It's an interesting 1, both are possible, AEW it seems to be going that way, before the Starrcast announcement you never knew but being around so many of those guys either he could be signed or that could be an indication he's open to it. He will be mingling with them, he could arrange a meeting with them. Personally I'd like to see him come back to AEW. However Paul Heyman, they were cool, if they still are and Paul is the booker then might squash shyt if a great offer is made, Triple H could focus on NXT, Bischoff on Smackdown, Heyman on Raw, is F Punk is booked right it could be great, but it all depends on the booking and the story told. AEW would seem to fit Punk more, more freedom, you could imagine Khan would be going for him too, if he's gonna make a comeback at this point sooner rather than later would be best. AEW's schedule would be more flexible, financially WWE may be more willing to make a bigger offer, but both would want him with them.

It's the closest thing we've had to an attitude era pop since the attitude era.

I'd go as far as saying it was arguably the best written angle they've had this decade.:wow:

They worked a bunch of mainstream outlets and Punk was really smart about carrying his character into the interviews he was getting.

What puts it over Daniel Bryan at WM30 for me was the fact that they had an idea for what to do afterwards. The DB chase story was amazing - particularly because they had to change it on the fly, and it built to a great moment but they put him in a feud with Kane as soon as he won the strap. :snoop:

The Comic-Con promo he did with HHH was a huge step in the right direction. It put them right in a market that understood what the company is about.

but they flubbed it at the first possible opportunity. :francis:

Without a doubt it's the best thing they've done in the past ten years. And as great as the build up and payoff was booked,v they dropped the ball that much more with how the booked Punk. They had him come back way too soon, he was only off TV a week, Nash texting himself (wtf how does that even make sense), and HHH going over clean. The HHH thing is the most unforgivable and egregious booking in company history. You couldn't fukk that up more if you tried but somehow they did.

Agreed and it’s not really arguable. As a wrestling (not just WWE) fan it was so fukking frustrating to watch in real time how they actively fukked up an easier layup than even Austin. From the second he sat on the stage and did the pipebomb, it was a go. He was the perfect (imperfect) alternative to Cena and they had all the makings of the next guy, even if it was a short 3 year run until Bryan got mega over.

It had everything you need to spark a new era if they would have just played it organically and didn’t “E” (HHH) it up. That angle easily had a year or more of material and build if they would have just played it cool and not threw shyt against the wall immediately. They had some real deal mainstream coverage that actually was based on an angle they made and not somebody dying, killing somebody, or their stock prices and they fukked it all the way up.

Vince is absolutely about to offer Punk the most ridiculous contract in wrestling history, just to keep him away from AEW..

12 mil, full creative control, 100% residuals on merch, limited dates type shyt...

It’s totally happening... they handed Heyman the book for a reason.. and we all know Punk doesn’t give a fukk about the industry. He just wants the oochies

No chance in hell of that happening. Being on script is probably worse now than it was when Punk was there. Heyman has the book but doesn't control talent acquisition from outside the company. You are correct that Vince would want to bring him back because....

Triple H will never allow dude back in the E, and remember they fired dude on his wedding day. He’s done with them for life.

Triple H won't be in a rush to bring him back. Between the comments Punk made and the fact they've raided the indies and smaller feds over the years, quite honestly they probably don't need Punk. What they need to do is focus on what they have and improve the booking/writing.

The AEW rumors should die out anyways since he’s still under contract to UFC

I'm sure if Punk went to Dana White and asked to be released from his contract, White would have it terminated before Punk could finish his sentence.

I can’t even front.

They only reason I’d love to see CM Punk back in the WWE is just because now the WWE acquired all the ROH and TNA rejects

(Finna keep that same energy and shade that was thrown out to other companies in the past and currently:lolbron:)

It would be cool to see him feud and do angles with them:ehh:

Especially Samoa Joe since they have a DEEP history and you can tell they was boys!

I would love to see what that chemistry between Punk and Joe would look like today.

Also;
Punk vs KO
Punk vs AJ Styles
Punk vs Sami
Punk vs Seth
Punk vs Ceasaro
Punk vs Adam Cole
Punk vs Rodrick Strong

Would all be intriguing to me. To bad they missed out on Punk vs Aries
