I understand exactly what you're saying. But this draws upon a point I made earlier in another thread; you can't attack the symptom but deny the sickness. The sickness is the lust for land and resources (power) the symptom is the tool used to justify the aggression. If you strip away religion, you still have that lust. You still have that greed.

You can choose not to subscribe to a religion or higher being, but you're fooling yourself if you think eradicating religion is going to solve even a quarter of the world's ills. Religion has been such a great scapegoat that it actually has fooled people into thinking that human beings aren't naturally greedy and selfish.

show me some sources because i'd like to know how they measure it. even solely religious wars hover at ~20%. not including political wars that were also fueled by religious beliefs.
