Anyone else a little disturbed by the Warrior worship on here as of late?

Meh, i think wrestling fans are just used to wrestlers being racist cacs :manny:

I mean there's a huge HBGOAT fanbase on here and for good reason, but the dude is Texas bred and his last name is Hickenbottom. I've come to grips with the fact that the dude probably says '******' in the comfort of his own home on a regular basis.

IT's a pretty common reaction when someone dies. They are instantly glorified to levels they never reached while alive.

That, and the timing. He made amends with WWE and was on a high point from a fan perception stand point. Seemed to really appreciate his fans too.

People always push for Owen in the HOF but there's not a chance he'd be considered if he stayed alive.

I got into wrestling not long after warrior left the second time so I didn't get to experience his time. But I knew he was a legend and that was enough. My old avi had the warrior logo. He is a part of wwe history and it's only right for people to remember him.

Yeah, Warrior had his issues. I'm not gonna deny that, but a lot of wrestlers (Hogan, HBK, Nash, etc. etc. etc.) did or still do. They also said a lot of fukked up things. You know who else has said a lot of fukked up things in life? Me. Some of which still haunts me and makes me face palm myself for saying as I get older. Warrior was human like all of us. He had a huge chip on his shoulder, and rightfully so, for many years and after awhile, that chip will begin to piss you off. He also was proud of his work and was generally touched when he would meet people (some who were very successful in life) and they would tell him he was one of their favorites. He seemed right in the world on the RAW before he passed and I'm happy for him.

I feel you on the others but I can't dismiss the personal actions of a man who killed his wife and child. There's being a huge fukk up outside the ring, and then there's something worse than that.

I'm saying. It makes me uncomfortable to watch Benoit matches tbh.

Finding out what kinda person he was behind the paint as an adult doesn't wash out the memories the character gave as child. They're called your formative years for a reason, you'll always have a soft spot for the things that mattered to you in those times. ..

I didn't know "man" personally to judge him nor the reasons for his "controversial" views and comments etc, all I had was the character I connected with as a kid and that's plenty of reason to be sad that he's gone and to speak glowingly of what was a superhero to me.

Does this have to do with his rant on homosexuality?

This might've easily been given a pass on the coli, but there's also that rant where he talks about "obviously black" criminals "acting like rhesus monkeys". Also, saying heath Ledger deserved to die and similar things about Perfect, Davey Boy, etc

He seemed to have chilled out in his last 4 or 5 years though, aside from the Hogan thing.
