Just listened to GKMC with my girl, her first time listening to it straight though. and then I put on DAN and she said 'turn this garbage off'. That's why I love her.

GKMC vs DAN
- albums of the struggle
- two separate genres in hip-hop
- one talks about consequences one doesn't
- one talks about the spoils of rap
- one talks about family with mom/dad
- one talks about a single fam hom
- both talk about surviving/etc

etc/etc

This is a really low standard to rating an album imo...But to each their own...To say something is "hot" or it "bangs" is kinds vague to me..

I don't have a problem listening to music that makes me think "wtf is he talking about?" sometimes because it forces me to dig deeper beyond the surface..I don't always have to have things spoon fed to me and spelled out in literal terms...

And I can listen to both types of music at the same time too.. I don't have a problem with it.. I have had GKMC and Trap God in constant rotation since the day they dropped and the albums are nothing alike creatively...The only reason we are having the Meek/Kendrick discussion is because the OP brought it up as a comparision..

Its not a low standard. What do we listen to music for? Yes, its vague to you because youre reading into it fam. I'm a hip hop head... It can be different, creative etc etc but it still has to be hot. You cant be good just because your different alone... That's all I'm saying. So what I'm saying is no extra credit from me if ITS NOT HOT. That's all.

A lot of Nas shyt held him back because the beats didn't come together with the rhymes or the hooks were horrible although the lyrics always there. So I'm not digging deep for nothing if its not hot. Redman and Ghost, two of my all time favs, they had that wtf are they talking about music BUT their shyt has always been dope, head nodding, and live.

Like joe budden said, it's like these nikkas can't like more than one rapper at a time
I mean I can but Meek is kinda ehhh to me so...

If we're going to compare albums, Kendricks shyts on Meeks, let's not kid ourselves.

Comparing Meek shyt to GKMC is like comparing Reasonable Doubt to Port of Miami or some shyt. Like...be real. Meek gonna do his numbers but he's not getting my bread lol

Kendrick shyt? Copped :smugdraper:

I sure the OP probably thought GFID was the album of the year too...

Outside of Traumatized and Tony Story pt 2 you could have played Meek's album and told me it was Dreamchashers 3 and I would be like :ehh: pretty good.

I was pleasantly surprised by Meek's album but that was only because I was expecting trash especially after hearing that single.

After about 4 songs, you have pretty much heard the extent of Meek Mill's content though.
