I'm watching this movie right now. I'm half way through it.

Ummmmmm..................Either Julianne Moore's character is gonna give JGL's character some p*ssy or she's a fukkING weirdo.

just finished, was a great watch. he was doing everything he was 'supposed' to do, reminds me of the misc really, but he was still empty and didnt realize it... and it only took someone even emptier than himself to make him realize that (with some help)

will some people say it's corny? yes... but all this 'love' stuff thats been happening for millions of years, well they may be onto something there :lolbron:

the funny thing is that this is the BEST unhappy you can ever achieve. 99% of people dont even get to experience this type of surface unhappy because they either got some real problems, or dont look good, or are fat and swagless or something. and ironically enough watching the ending to this movie will just paper over the cracks for these people!

is she a weirdo breh? I think it comes down to people's personalities.. someone asking questions and caring like that while giving no fukks? thats perfect :ahh: .. but other type of people may find her a fukking weirdo like you said
I thought that the central plot/moral of the story was that Jon was "doing" the right things (nice car, his own pad, hot chicks coming and going, banging girl, stays in great shape) but it was all because he had convinced himself that it was what he was SUPPOSED to do. Much like porn, he was just getting the quick fix everywhere in his life.

That's why at the end he actually goes to the gym to play basketball instead of just going because it's going to make his chest and arms look better. It's also why he started feeling better about life and himself when he stopped taking the easy route.

Maybe I'm reaching, but I got that from the film. Sure, you do all of these great things by Entourage standards, but why? Why do you keep up with an arbitrary "Eights or better" streak? Why do you watch porn? Why do you work out? Moore calls him out because he's fukking like she's not there because he's just trying to get a nut off because he's programmed himself to do that. When he slows down and realizes that sex is not a means to a nut, he starts enjoying his life more because he applies that thought pattern to all aspects.
this is some great analysis, gonna bookmark this post just to be able to rep you tomorrow :banderas:

Good to see that we both came away feeling similar after the movie. That means that it at least had a message to tell, which means it couldn't have been horrible.

I agree on that last paragraph lol. That's very funny. Most guys who are living that life because they think that they're supposed to be there just go to a club, get super trashed to hopefully hit on girls, get numbers just to say that they got numbers, and hang with the boys so they don't get left behind. I think that his friend who he always ragged on for drinking too much pretty much fits that criteria.

At some point, you just have to search for a lifestyle or aspects that bring substance and value to your life. Bringing a hot girl home to "ma" just to appease them, and looking good to look good can only bring a certain level of happiness.

His girl pushed him to go to school, but it wasn't because HE needed to go to school. It was so he could get a better job to pay for her, and so she could say "my boyfriend works at such and such prestigious institute" so that it would make HER look better (she was trapped in that pattern too). He should be going to school to better himself and work towards a goal for him. Again, he's at the right place, or doing the right thing, but for the wrong reason or no reason at all.

I thought that his commentary on the oral game was really funny though. And the hallway scene, while awkward, was pretty funny to me.

Movie was decent and this is a good review of it.
