honestly only do this if you're applying for a creative job

if you're applying for a professional career, avoid doing this, it makes it harder for HR who has to go through 100 resumes a day
How does it make it harder?

How does it make it harder?

Most places are gonna force you to upload your resume into their system and strip out all formatting anyway. Then they'll search for key words to find candidates and go from there.

If you're going for a creative job you're going to need to have a portfolio anyway.

Basically resumes like this are pointless.

How does it make it harder?

it's like in english class when teachers would make you write 5+ paragraphs so that they could grade them quicker
4 paragraphs? = already a knock on your grade

similar concept, most resumes follow a certain flow, and when you disrupt that, a person who has to look through tons of them per day is going to be pissed

Definitely eye-catching but I don't know how well the unprofessional style would go over with potential employers.

Yeah that is the thing. However if you are at a career fair that may help you get noticed.

The problem is for experienced folks the fonts and design might not let you put all the info in that you need.

What I mean by this is because of the HR software one of the best methods you can use is to take the req and basically take all the info in the req and put it in your resume. This is how you beat the HR software because it looks for key words and has to have something like a 85% go 90% hit.

Basically now a days you need to tailor every resume to the job you apply too in order to get a hit.
