:awshyt: Wrote this a couple months ago for my Creative Writing class

The water’s surface parts
As I become submerged
And a dazzling oasis of bubbles
Manifests as I sink deeper
Into the void before
The sea supports my weight
And makes an angel of my drift
Like an astronaut coasting
Through the vessel of creation.
Wickedness evades
For paradise invades
With purity and peace;
The ocean is its shield
And the salt is its elixir.
I remain curled like a ball
For I know I am safe.

Joy protects me…

The warmth of heaven
Gently bakes the sand
As my stroll marks the Earth
Like craters on the Moon.
The remaining traces of water smooths my tan
As it dries on my back.
God’s light sits in the chest of the sky
And selflessly pumps out life
Like a youthful heart
Eager to give
As if charity is its purpose.
The horizon of the ocean
Stretches past my sight
And leads to lands only my mind
Can traverse,
Where my imagination
Is the Hermes to reality
Or the zip line between
The cliffs of fact and fantasy.
Palm trees sway
From the soft, ancient
Hawaiian breeze,
Carrying small specs of soot
From the looming volcanoes,
Which protrude in the distance,
Like Titans frozen in time
And aged by yesteryear,
Breaking the leisure flow of clouds
Like rock shards
In an icy
Shallow stream.
The island is small
But the stars underestimate
The scale of perfection
To man.
The scene is wondrous
And I find many loves
At first sights.

Where are you
To guide me, Joy?

Turning, I cut
Through the vegetation,
And the tropical jungle
Amazes me again.
Leafy limbs droop in my path
With every neck turn
Like drapes in a Gypsy ’s home
Who has an obsession
With Polynesian emeralds
And ceremonial Kane scarves.
The trees rise high
Into the cerulean abyss
And cast an angelic shade
Over the dense forest
Which furthers the serenity
Of nature’s disarray.
The distant cry
Of frogs and monkeys,
Birds and insects
Fills my ears with a sound
So robust, and so tender
It would be a crime
To gasp or moan
With satisfaction.
I allow Joy her peace
And abstain from bothering her.

We will love this
Together…

I finally find her
Joy, in a clearing,
Wearing a white gown
As thin as a veil,
Sitting on a stone near a lake,
Her gaze mesmerized
By my perception of her
Through the glossy film
Of the water’s reflection.
Her smile curls
Like the locks of her hair,
Like the grips of our hands
When we embrace
Each other’s passion,
And she straightens to her feet
And takes her time closing the distance
Between us until she stands before
Me, a head below my chin
But equal in my heart.

Joy places her lips
Together with mine,
And we lead ourselves out of the garden
Comforted by our union,
Reassured by our love.

Joy is finally with me,
And I will never let go.

Norfeast groovin…
I was looking everywhere for this thread, can we just make this the official writer's thread I was hoping to bounce ideas and facts around since I'm gettin back in the game with a few projects, I just like my shyt to be factually correct.

1. One of the main characters in a project moved from Oakland to the East Coast, for you Bay Area cats what neighborhoods in the O are kinda bordering between safe and affluent and all the way fukked up? I want the character to have come from a mixed environment, or even to have lived in the hood but go to a school in a good neighborhood not too far away?

2. What's a good name and background for a black international jewel thief?

3. What's the best age for a main character in a coming of age book geared towards teens and young adults?

Norfeast groovin…
answer to number 3 : i would say between 12-17

I was thinking 13 myself, I want the character to go through a lot of changes and do things he never would of done had he not left his self isolating environment. But I dunno, 13 might be a little too young. Maybe 15 or 16 so he could better pass as an adult.
