So nothing was settled through breakdancing?

Breh u trying to be funny? Bboys were the streets cats. Battles errupted into fights. It was suppose to be a positive thing but it was still gritty. But wtf does that have to do with my post? :what:

I was actually referring to how oldheads always tell me how they used to settle shyt with dancing instead of guns and shyt. And then I saw your username and thought it was relevant. I have no knowledge of the B-boy lifestyle besides stories and what comes from movies.

I think kids are just more apt to feel comfortable putting it out there.
Yesteryears picture drawn behind the teachers back of mass shootings are today's fridge art work and tomorrows exhibit A. in the school shooting trial.

boys will be boys.

On that note, i'll add that while kids now are more apt to "talk about it" back in my day we were more apt to "BE about it"...i point to the spike in violence between the 70-90's.

i'll shyt we used to do that i don't think get's done like it used to:
- Rock fights. The idea was to try to almost kill someone.
- Construction area tag. The idea was not to die...or get tagged.
- Playing Outside. The idea was not to get shot for wearing the wrong color, or kidnapped and raped, possibly murdered.
- Street Tackle football: Try not to get killed
- Smear the queer: Try to kill the guy with the ball.
- Dodgeball: Try to "accidentally" hit people in the head.
- Hunting Arrow Tag - ....don't get hit by the kid throwing the hunting arrow.
- What's a helmet?

The list goes on and on.

Damn near every game played as a kid involved the very real possibility of death or dismemberment.

They put one of yours in the hospital, you put one of theirs in the morgue?
yeah that was always fun. A couple of friend tried to play this game where basically you just took turns hitting eachother in the face :merchant:, "circles" is what they tried to call it. I guess i was too soft for that lol. That one even had me like :whoa:

We did used to box a lot though.

Oh "Quarters" you ever play that? Where you get a quarter, slide it on the floor as hard as you can towards someones fist. DOesn't sound like much but get good at it and it becomes a bloody mess.

When I was a kid I caught a mouse in my house and decided to put on a show for all his friends. :birdman:

I never saw another mouse in my house after that. :leostare:

When I was 14, i lured a mouse into trap, threw him into a mop bucket and stabbed it 50 times with the sharp end of my broom :ld:

I kinda felt fukked up about it for a little while. Never had anymore mouse problems tho.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Read some of these books, and y'all will see the same stupid stuff kids are doing today, our fathers, and our grand fathers generations were doing.

:lolbron: i have a permanently dislocated finger cause of this.

Lets not for get man hunt, snow ball fights (attempt to kill)

Street tackle football :dead: those were the days man. We would legit by hitting and tackling the fukk out of dudes on concrete. Now that I think about it, that's just crazy and dangerous but as a kid it was just fun. You never really thought about getting hurt.

We used to have vicious snow ball fights and throw shards of ice at people too.

The media has definitely shaped today's kids, but I think the deeper issues is kids can't go out and properly express themselves.

When I was a kid (I'm 22, so I feel like I'm in the cross-over generation) I was always outside getting into harmless trouble.

Just recently I wanted to take my 10 year old step brother to shoot some airsoft guns and his mom was like :dwillhuh:

I mean yes, completely dangerous, but we always had 'armor' so we tried to have some kind of safety. :russ:

But like I was saying, we had a way to go out and express ourselves by shooting each other up the safe way, racing bikes, sparring, or anything and then we'd come in and be the best of friends afterwards. Now these kids are so sheltered I'm scared for the future because all the have is the media shaping their imagination, instead of the other way around.

But anyway, I hate this "PC" society, they're trying to shape isolation and it's only gonna lead to some evil ass kids

Not much different from when i was a kid, cept back then, violence wasnt as big a deal. You could KO someone with contraband at school and get suspended for 5 days. You were supposed to be tough to defend yourself against demonic individuals. Nowadays the law is involved to protect citizens from people who lash out demonically.

yea particularly for boys this lack of ..."problem solving" I think is setting this generation up for some trouble.

It's not even about being soft it's about creating an imagination and proper social skills. At the bare minimum kids should be in some sports team or something that gets them out the house and interacting with live people outside of a school setting.
