I live in the United States
I don't know man, I'd accept some tickets and go. But to buy tickets and go by yourself?
You ever go to a restaurant by yourself? I dont' even like going to a bar by myself :manny:
But I guess its worse to leave a bar by yourself :myman: Unless you a football player :yeshrug: (too soon?)

I don't mind doing things by myself but sporting events by yourself are kinda lonely. Probably more lonely than doing anything else alone. I hit bars, go to dinner, go to the movies by myself all the time.... At least with bars and clubs you meet people. Dinner you're just eating and the movies you're in the dark so who cares....Hitting sporting events are more so about the atmosphere more so than watching the game because honestly you could probably watch a game better at home. It's not so bad tho, I went to a Sixers playoff game vs the Bulls last year by myself, went to the Danny Garcia vs Amir Khan fight on some spur of the moment shyt by myself during my homie's bachelor party in Vegas when we were out there the whole weekend & I broke off from the squad. One thing I will say, I pay attention to the game better when I go their by myself and I also tend to meet new people easily, especially if I'm in a club box or something.

You could bring a girl to a game and end up having to explain rules and talking so much that you end up not even paying attention to the game half the time.

Or your homies could just not have their bread right.

You have to learn to live life for you, whoever comes along, comes along. Life is better when you have someone to share experiences with tho. I've paid for my homies to come along to some games.

i hit bars and food spots all the time solo i dont really give a fukk. if im hungry or craving a good brew and dont feel like waiting for someone to roll with its no concern. no way id hit up a local sporting event by myself, id rather watch the shyt on tv or at a bar. why pay a premium to watch it by yourself. now if im out of town for whatever reason and wanna hit up a game, thats another story.

I've went to a few sporting events by myself. Sometimes its too much of a hassle to get people to go with you. What I realized is that you miss out on a lot of things if you wait on having someone to go with you.

I always go to sporting events solo. Always have. Easier to hit up tailgates or explore when you realize the crowd is small. Volleyball was the best in college. Always was a bunch of nice lookin' girls there. Got mad hugs at big football games. I hit up local college and high school games solo now. But going to the Texas High School Championships this weekend with my brother, who will be in town for a couple of weeks. We have the same mentality about it, and really just want to see the games and relax as if we were at home chillin'. Some people don't know how to chill at these events, which is why solo aint bad at all.

Hmmm dunno if I could do that solo, but you could always link up with the people right next to you.

I travel and vacation alone, so I ALWAYS meet new people. I'm pretty outgoing and talkative so it's not hard, networking is something I grew up on living in north hollywood, so in fact I prefer to go solo most places where I want to MEET people.

IF I go to the bar alone I will 100% meet people and more women. ALWAYS. I do have my crew here I meet up with of course, but we stay in our 10 deep crew and nobody really sprawls off. 2 sets (2 women sharing an evening) will most likely not want to get involved in a group of men and women that large, esp since women (the ones in the group) may get territorial. What I usually do is chill with the crew, then by 1am, they head over to the dance club since clubs end at 5am here, I hang back for an hour or 2, by then everyone in the bar is buzzin, the older crowd my age is still lingering. I'm always hit up by 2 sets "hey can we sit here, or where are your friends? you here alone?"

From my years alone, I've learned humans are very social beings, it's instinct to stay in packs for survival, communication and various reasons. With that said, it is unusual to see a rogue human, so packs are curious about you, far less threatened and more acceptable (unless you look like a crack head or some shyt) into pulling you into their pack, it raises their numbers, security and communication, more people, more conversation. I get approached every single time. I guess I never understood why you'd want to go to a bar (to meet NEW people) with more than 1 other person, it cuts the odds dramatically.

As for sporting event, never done it, I can't see it working mostly because people are there to focus on a game, not socialize or meet new people. but like I said, you could always just link up with the people sitting next to you on either side. you're alone and thus non-threatening.

I went to see UNC at the Elite 8 last year solo. I wouldnt make it a habit to go solo, but I won't miss an event I really want to see cause my boys are unavailable.

game 7, western conference semi-finals btw the mavs and kings.

got the ticket 2 hrs before tip, went dolo and had a great time b/c i was sitting next some cool ass folk.

for longhorn football, i never went with less than 5 people. i can't imagine going to a college event dolo...when the whole experience is built around enjoying it with friends.

@rantanamo i'm going to try and make it to the lancaster and katy games this weekend. tx high school championships is when i really start missing texas stadium.
