Anybody ever sit back and think how capitalism did a number on consumer spending habits?

Yep. People are so stupid today. Mfers got shytty jobs. No money. But say ima spend my money and go into debt to travel and experience the world
But when they travel they do the same stupid shyt they do in their own city :mjlol: enjoy being an old bum in the future

Then they expect their kids to support them but i got friends who kids dont fukk with them cause they remember how selfish they were. I like to treat myself but its getting to that point where i just want to buy the right stocks that pay decent dividends then get a lil bs job. I aint trying to impress people

You named one car and your production numbers are off. Hellcats, Scat Packs, mustangs, bmws. And that's just cars

So you don't think consumerism is at an all time high? The average cost of a wedding is $40k meanwhile Americans have a median savings of $5,000
1. What’s your source on production figures?

2. Average cost is skewed by higher cost weddings. Median would be a better measure of how common expenditures are.

the peer pressure around travelling is real tho. i'm one of the most "go against the grain" mfs you'll meet and I've fallen victim to it. Same way people will cop an Iphone just to not get clowned for having Android.

People (esp women) will absolutely judge you over your perceived lifestyle, let's be 100. i remember some coli breh posted a story of how his coworker was curving him until she saw pics of him in Greece :lolbron:

So you're complaining about people spending the money they've earned instead of sitting on it doing nothing then regretting it later in life lol.

Nobody's forcing you to buy unnecessary things. Don't blame others on your problems. A weak willed people existed for as long as humans have existed.

Capitalism did none of that. People's desires and avarice are the problem, not capitalism. Humanity is not meant to be flat, pinko :camby:

I'm not talking from a corporate perspective, but the average consumer.

No savings, but needing to buy the best clothes, the most expensive whip, eating at expensive restaurants, traveling to different countries. Dropping $20k on a ring, then having a $40k wedding.

And at the end of the day they pay check to pay check sleeping in a rented $2100/month apartment :dwillhuh::huhldup:
Nice thread topic. If you have time and like documentaries, this explains a lot.

Spending too much money on intangible services. is what is most likely to be regretted.
All them fancy dinners will be like they never existed. You could've just cooked and then later in life you'd be in the same place but with more money.
People should at least spend money on things that have some small bit of return. You can sell that fancy car, you can sell that watch.
Can't sell that memory of getting bottle service in Vegas though. literally just throwing money away and having nothing to show for it 24 hours later.
