This episode started off depressing, but started getting funnier when Rust went to the house of his former business partner. When he was talking about his wife fingering herself and getting excited

I had the same thought he did too at the end. Rust could have just asked for the surfboard

Yeah, them breaking down at the apology session was . The thing about the show is that it is low-key with its humor a lot, but does seem to take a look at marriage in a different way than most shows. Personally I find it depressing at times . Russ' wife is always getting on his case and you want to root for him, but honestly he didn't even finish reading that book he was going on about and she would still be taking care of the kids in Costa Rica .

Jenny Slate was looking throughout this episode though.
