Managerial accounting no joke. Good luck.
Probably won't be a lot of black people in the program.
Less than five in every class I took.

Go buy some general ledger books.
This helped:

I don't personally know any black male accountants, outside of myself obviously. This isn't easy but the rewards are superb post grad.

26 lol, I thought you were in your 40s asking this question

:russ:

Education is for everyone.:blessed:

About 10 years ago I met a 50 something year old Ethiopian from a rural village who dreamt of being an engineer.

He only had 3 years of education when he was in grade school and basically had to start at 9th grade High School and Uni.

I hope he reached his dream
:wow:

Do you think the demand for accountants is going to decrease with the advent of AI & companies offshoring to Indians for peanuts?
Well, I do believe that Al will affect everything but there are some things that are in our favor. Way more CPAs are retiring than what is coming in. There is a scarcity of accountants in general, forget about just the CPAs. You can get in virtually every industry as well.

How wide is the income disparity between accountants with the CPA certification vs. those without?

Figures state about a million more over your lifetime. My thing was twofold. One, do I think being a CPA made me a better accountant? Not really. It's a designation that everyone knows and understands. Same with my MBA. My whole goal is to say, you can't say I'm not qualified because I hit every real metric a company can have. Some want you to be at least master level education to get a director or executive level position.

In accounting, there are many people who are CFOs and they aren't CPAs. However, the CPA license will help to have companies pay you at a premium because it's the great equalizer between accounting degrees between different colleges. In addition, your ability to be mobile between jobs become near limitless.

I'm thinking about finishing up for the CPA and doing a grad program in taxes.
Had to make moves and do something else and didn't get back. Still in school, but when I finish I'll have the 150 to sit for the CPA.
Was thinking about doing private consultations on the side for when I retire.
