I'm looking to cop a bike what do yall reccomend?
Theres a few bike threads in here and even TLR.

Get a road bike or a hybrid. Brand doesn't matter. Never buy new.

Go on Craigslist and cop. It's about to be bike season again so any deals may be going fast. Some dude bought his wife a $900 bike. That shyt sat in their garage I gave him $125 for it.

I bought an 1980s road bike for $50 and customized it. Carbon fiber handlebars, index bar end shifters, different pedals etc. But I biked a lot and I like to build and customize shyt.

Go on Craigslist and cop from someone's who's too lazy to use the bike they bought for free.

I have an old school Trek 7000, I usually do 10-15 miles a day on it 4 days a week in the spring/summer/fall. Definitely helps to knock off pounds and build leg and calf muscles. Wear protective gear and you will be good. Buy a distance tracker or use your phones exercise apps.

yeah riding a bike everyday is fun and such an easy way to stay fit and lean..
and whoever said buy a second hand bike was right, so many people buy expensive bikes that they never use. find someone lazy and grab yourself a deal!!

I bought a road bike for $300 that cost this cac like $2000. it was taking up space in his garage and I've been riding it everyday since

:salute:.

Things like weight equipment/bikes never really lose their value. The only time they do is when people simply don't use them. Sure a bike can get broken and if you don't know what your doing its very overwhelming, however even buying a broken bike whether the retail value is $2000 or $200 is a deal because fixes are not that expensive.

exactly.. I grew up riding bikes everyday from like 7yo till I was 18 and left school, so i can fix anything on a bike and service it muself.
great life tool to have :salute:

and I like riding through my City... a lot of broads snap their necks when they see a fit brother pushing them pedals :youngsabo:

I had a Trek bike (though kinda small) but it got stolen a few weeks back.

When I get back from ATL I'm copping another one. I actually really enjoy biking. Ever since I did it in DC a few years back I've been hooked.

Very easy way to get in exercise and it's easy on the joints.

How long is a piece of string?

You get what you pay for with bikes.

I prefer single speed (one gear, but not fixed wheel) with a low tooth cog and a light as fukk frame, build and wheels. I live in a flat, city area so I don’t need to mess with gears.

shyt is like a stallion to ride. You get the strongest legs (calves and quads get swole) from the low tooth back cog and you can zip in traffic at the speed of a car and then zip off the road and beat lights etc. Much faster way to get around than a car for the most part, fun too.

But if you want a road bike then just get a second hand middle of the road bike to test out the waters, then you can progress from there.

Mine got stolen too. Beautiful bike, I went upstairs to chop it up with an old friend real quick, bike was locked 15 metres from window. Came down 30 mins later and the pole it was tied to was pulled outta the ground.

Riding my old bike now, just not the same. It’s like I’m back with an ex girlfriend, you still care about em, they beautiful and all, but you can’t stop thinking about the beauty that disappeared lol.

What would you suggest for a breh that rides his bike recreationally through a mix of road and sidewalk?

City isn't perfectly flat and there are some rolling hills. Essentially a good starter bike.

I'll look to add more bikes as I get more experienced, but right now looking for an all rounder.
