[Introducing PES 2013] The Player ID Experience (Episode 3) - YouTube

it's hilarious how ppl become FIFA fanboys not realizing that everything good about that game they just stole from PES. PES is still more realistic and alot deeper than FIFA. 5 year olds play FIFA and score with ease, a 5 year old will play PES and not be able to score until he hits puberty.

The game requires almost no tactics like FIFA 10, the learning curve is greatly in favor of beginners, cause I don't think its fair play to pass the ball 8 or 9 times to try to create spacing. FYI: they do this because the AI is atrocious when it comes to automatic switch (I put this on "airball" setting).

Real Madrid is automatic. Its an automatic score even if Ozil/Bezema/Ronaldo has 2 defenders in front him and 1 defender that already got a piece of the ball + 84 rated keeper.

Also I neutralized the counter attack with the "air ball" setting, because Real players would "through pass" the ball 90% of the game to Benzema or Ronaldo and they would easily out run my defender. They usually stop trying when they always find 2 or 3 defenders waiting for them.

Attackers & defenders are very slow to react to loose balls. A lot of the times my player would "jog" towards a loose ball. And once the other gets the ball then he starts to sprint.

I also play with BvB (4 stars), Aston Villa (4 stars), Lyon (4.5 stars) and I manage to get Real Madrid sometimes.

FIFA is the only game I play online, the online experience with PES and NBA 2k are not that great that's why I left them alone especially NBA 2k. But, I gotta see how the online experience is with PES this year, because the ball physics, player impact engine, and uneven ratings (Real Madrid is easily an 8 star team) are driving me crazy with FIFA.

There's other shortcomings, but I adjust my game play to the bugs in the game and exploits.

I made a post a while back in the FIFA 12 thread about people always picking Real Madrid and FC Barcelona and some HRRELOADED fakkit tried to shyt on me :stopitslime:

This is my first year on that FIFA and I'm a beginner, but even I can tell that them teams are overpowered and you will play them 90% of the time if you're not doing Head2Head Seasons

It was Barca in FIFA 08, Man U/Barca in '09 & '10, now its Real. I didn't play FIFA 11 online.

But the Real team in FIFA 12 blows those other super teams out the water, its not even close. Super teams usually have a lot of players around 88 to 90, especially Barca in '08 with Messi/Dinho/Eto'o.

But at least the game play is realistic, I think those animations - player impact engine makes me adjust my style of play, cause I know its gonna be a lot foolishness. :upsetfavre:

I disagree with that, Fifa's presentation, online features, content etc are all top notch as you would expect from an EA game but on the pitch, I find it boring and repetitive. I get no sense I am truly controlling Messi, Lampard, Pirlo. This is an area PES has always excelled in, its a shame that game as whole when you factor the overall content is pretty poor.

Fifa 13 :bryan:

Same crap, different front cover

Nope, they have definitely stepped it up.

I'm really looking forward to the Career Mode, manage a club and country, and play in club tournaments as well as country tournaments will be very entertaining.

EA SPORTS FIFA ‏@EASPORTSFIFA#FIFA13Career: World Championship, European Championship, Conf. Cup, qualifiers and friendlies all available.
Collapse

EA SPORTS FIFA ‏@EASPORTSFIFA#FIFA13Career: Better Manager AI for CPU teams; ability to specify asking price for your players; more realistic transfers, Player + Cash.

Should be exciting, but that Career is too hard to play, you buy the best players in the game and you still lose 2-1 at home to Wigan near the end of the season. EA better have a look into this.

Graphics seem to be on point on 13 too, almost Madden-like:

Match Presentation
This one came as a big surprise because the match presentation in the build we played at EAC was completely different to the press event code we’d sampled earlier in the year. The entire stadium now feels alive with activity during the opening*cut scene, with camera men and*photographers*following the players on to the pitch snapping away at FIFA’s all star cast as they emerge from the tunnel. There’s also a raft of new pre-match camera angles and sequences the most impressive being an aerial view of the pitch and a*brilliant*close up of the match ball as the players prepare to kick-off. You even see a subtle wobble effect on the camera to represent that someone is carrying it whilst moving across the pitch.

...

Stewards and policemen for instance are no longer cardboard cutouts, instead they’re living breathing models who’ll move around the ground studiously watching the crowd. Even the photographers positioned behind the goal*noticeably*change the angle their camera is facing depending on where the action is, the level of detail is really quite something.

...

The best though, as always is saved to last because in FIFA 13 you’ll now be able to see subs warming up on the touchlines and mangers patroling the technical area.

fifa tried to emulate PES master league with transfers etc, the game always does things like this. I cant take the fakeness of fifa such as exploitations people us (ex picking a team like REAL btw everyone picks either REAL or BARCA every game) and plays 3 fast people up top such as Benzema, Ronaldo, and Ozil and doesnt do one past from the defense they just play it straight up top and tries to do give an goes between 3 fowards, this can never happen in real life. Whatever happend to the midfield and other player? PES does things to stop this if you try and get the ball from sweeper you cant just past it up top to foward everytime the ball will not get through the midfield to even get to him. Fifa however does have the better soundtrack, graphics and online modes/licenses. But this is what EA does with licenses I remember they bought out everything so the 2K series would suffer.

Every year the EA series announces some dramatic changes but its really just minor changes, EA never listens to its forum complaints either to correct exploits like this.

This can be neutralized, just set auto switching to "airball". Now there is always 2 or 3 defenders waiting when they try to "through pass" the ball. Real forwards are way too fast, I used to get killed when I lost possession of the ball and they just push it up field to a running Benzema or Ozil.

I can play Barca, they are not as ridiculous as Real.

Can somebody help me with custom tactics? I'm a noob to soccer and FIFA. I noticed some opponents I play will have non stop swarming pressure on me. I know they are changing something, but i don't know what to change and how much to change it.

Also, If I'm trying to hold on to a lead, what is a defensive formation to switch too?

It doesn't necessarily mean they r changing formation. They are Holding the button to draw defenders down and running towards you with the man Rey control. I love when they do this because again its not realistic and it just opens up the field so you will have unmarked players to pass to. I kill gamers who play this way just when that rush u hold the ball until there 2 nd or 3rd player is attacking and play the ball to ur open unmarked man.
