Im really thinking about financing a motorcycle. A lot of folks say don't finance a toy and pay cash, but it's gone take me forever to save cash. I ain't tryna wait till I'm 45 for my first motorcycle :shaq2:

I've searched Craigslist and Facebook and prices have gone hella up:francis:

Any suggests for a $7k bike? Muscle cruiser or sports bike

Don't finance. Your first bike? Your gonna dump it eventually. SV650. always me recommendation. Again, was faster on this than my Daytona 675.

I been riding for 30 years and I just ATE MASSIVE shyt yesterday at the track.

Had all my gear on...sherco hit me in the back of the head and landed on my leg..

Just upgraded my meter on my old school project CBR600F2, went with Koso's RX4 unit. I had their DB02R on there prior, this one has a lot more functions. TFT display, BT, gear shift, auto display adjustment for day and night, a/f ratio, etc. Still gotta road test it to get it to learn the MPH measurement off the front wheel sensor.

Is it your first bike? Get one of the learners. I wouldn't spend more than $3-4K because you WILL drop it learning to balance. Most learners you can flip for almost what you paid in a year or 2 when you get your skills up.

Put 5-10K miles on it learning to ride (not just survive) then sell it for what you really want.

Used motorcycle prices are trash right now. They are nearly the same as buying new.

In that price range, Kawasaki Eliminator, which is a cruiser style bike or Z500 which is similar to a sports bike, but has a more upright and comfortable seating position. Both of those bikes have 450cc motors.

But really, you should go to the dealership and sit on bikes. Something might look cool in pics and videos, but be unbelievably uncomfortable once you sit on it. Also, have in mind what exactly do you want to do with the bike. If you're just cruising around town at relatively low speeds, you might not need a bike with a windscreen, but if you want to get on the highway or do long rides, it's essential.

Back in the DMV
Riding season is back (well, at least on the East Coast)

Anyone doing anything? Getting that new bike, doing some modifications, etc?

Im replacing the grips, replaced the front shocks with a heavier oil (have a cruiser, was dripping oil onto the brakes)

A new bike would be great , a Diavel specifically :whew:

Got the bike a little over a week ago, Shoei helmet, Klim gloves and jacket, Alpine Star shoes, and riding pants.

Been riding around the neighborhood for about a week, working on the basics before I hit the road.

Sat on so many bikes from Indians, BMW, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki, etc. before coming across Triumph and it fit my needs the most. Ended up with Tiger Sport 660

Thanks, which one did you get? Shoei is my goto for helmets, had an RF900 back in the day, moved to an RF1200, now got the X14.

:salute: Congrats on the bike, most of all THE GEAR, so happy to see it. I work in the powersports industry and gear is so overlooked by riders. Seen far to many accidents........

My babies. ‘01 and ‘06. I sold the ‘01 and kept the 6. Got some upgrades but never got to turn up. I dropped it my first ride after my last deployment. Haven’t fixed it or ridden since.
:wow:
Pops kept it in the garage for 10 years. I picked it up last year and now it’s in my backyard. I just found somebody to take it off my hands.

We had great times and got a lot of cat because of you.
:salute:
@maxamusa
That’s the bike I dropped in that helmet story.

If you're thinking distance rides then yeah cruisers are probably the way to go. I love my ZX so much I parked it in my crib but after a couple hours you are ready to get off and relax for a minute.

As for the busa, shyt is heavy as fukk. 1000s are just as fast until you get to the very top end but they're a lot lighter feeling. Honestly I always recommend 600s. Ive had mine for 6 years now and I have not gotten tired/bored of it yet. It's so much shyt you can do with a 600 especially in curves. Personally not going up to 1k till I can consistently drag my knee on the ground in turns.
This was my last post in here before I went down :mjcry: name used to be @RiGGA but yeah April 2022 I went down and almost killed myself on the expressway. I was riding around South Florida as if it was Chicago and realized too late I hadn't learned the roads down there yet. Dislocated hip, fractured foot, scars all over my body. Between the accident and me having my first child I thought I'd never ride again.

Two years later I've moved back home, healed up, and ready to tear shyt up . My family is gonna be very disappointed in me but idgaf I'm literally addicted to this shyt. I tried my best to abstain from getting another but as soon as the weather breaks (Chicago still cold as fukk) I'm getting a liter. My journey cannot and will not end on a 636.

Pray for me, brehs

Went to a Kawasaki dealer yesterday and saw the sexiest ZX-10R I've ever seen, literally had to call my realtor to stop myself from buying that bytch on the spot. I'm in the process of buying property so under no circumstances can I finance a large purchase until that deal goes through. I have the cash to buy it to avoid financing but my agent is worried I might need some of that money to close. When I tell you it took everything in me to not be a child and buy it anyway brehs my God

No @Luken.

Furthermore, if I stay patient and wait I can instead finance a BMW S1000RR for 2.9%. comes with Akro exhaust, handlebar warmers, electric steering dampers I mean you name it. Typically you can't finance a bike for less than 9% APR so that bmw special is a deal. Free game for anybody in the market for a superbike, the s1k is no joke
