I went to the driving range a few times and I'd hit like 10 balls out of the whole bucket. I need to learn how to do it because the guys at work keep talking about going with customers.

I do. I shoot around a score around 90 or so. Still have a bit of trouble getting off the tee.

theres a course here in Winston-Salem, i heard alot of older brothers play regularly..

Do they have any black golf leagues down there?

finally got Sundays off moving forward, but football season about to be back on.. :ooh:

Get out at 8am. You’ll be finished before noon. :manny:

nah but sometimes I'll hit the driving range get a bucket of balls and hit them into orbit. It's pretty relaxing.

Hearing the sound when iron connects with the ball when you first hit off the tee, has me like :ahh:

I said to myself that I can definitely see myself coming out early Sunday mornings to get a round in.

I live close to a golf course but never thought of playing in one. Is it fun?

Just played a 9 hole for the first time but it was very relaxing to me. I’m sure it’s a lot of fun when you add brewskis and a couple of buddys to the mix.

- its one of the oldest Black golf clubs in the South..

- true.. i also learned as i get older, having at least one full day off(no work, phone, etc) is one of the most important things.. i actually have a 2hr break almost everyday, so may go play a 9 on break sometime soon..

I got a brand new set of Taylormade RBZ and rocket blade irons this year that I haven't played yet.

I'm thinking about having them re-gripped but want to play a round with them first.

I used to play once a month before my kid was born but I'm trying to get back into it.

I play.

Watching videos can have pros and cons. When you start watching them you will realize the different philosophies and swing types. It can create bad habits and put too many contradictory swing thoughts.

My wife (then my GF at the time) used to work at a Golf Resort so when i started to play the golf pro there taught me the basics - stance, grip, backswing, turn, follow through, etc. Real simple that you can probably find on Youtube.

It took a while to finally find the right swing for me and what it is now to what it was when I first got that lesson is completely different.

Watch a beginners' video and get the basics and then go out and hit the range. Experiment with your grip from weak, neutral to strong. Made a huge difference in my game when i switched to a strong grip which fit my swing the best.

Just shot a personal best of 81 two weeks ago. Should have broken 80 if I didn't get a +5 on one of the par 4s.:wow:

Game is addicting and expensive:sadbron:

My granddad taught me how to play as a kid, we'd go out to the driving range and hit balls. He even enrolled me in a few golf camps when I'd visit him for a couple of weeks. Played my last 2 years in HS too.

It's a neat sport but the main reason I haven't touched it in so long is that it's expensive. I need to get my bread up before I can ever really get back into it. Still have my set of clubs, would love to hit the range for old time's sake. :wow:
