It's a pretty serious hobby of mine, and comes first in life for me before a lot of other things. I've probably spent like $15k on guitars, amps, and gear over the years. My main guitar is a late 70's Yamaha SG, a discontinued model imported from Japan that they used to call the "Les Paul Killer," and I play through 2 big half-stack tube amps with a huge selection of effects pedals. I mostly play heavier psychedelic rock music.

Any of yall into Gibsons?
Slash has a new book out, might pick it up.
Crazy collection.

I like Gibson, but haven't committed that type of bread yet.

Ephiphone is good enough right now. Later I would like to have 1 Gibson Les Paul though.

Seems like people like to collect guitars, especially limited versions that might go up in value years later.

The Fender Acoustasonic Telecaster has been :banderas: for me

:snoop: I don't change my strings often. Like if a string pops then I usually replace them all. Because there was a time where I'd just replace one string. And in a certain case, one string would pop all the time and I'd go buy another set of strings so I'd have 3 brand new sets of strings all missing D string or some shyt.

Does anyone routinely replace their strings? Every 3 months, 6 months? Year? As long as mine hold tune and don't buzz, I don't.

Got my first guitar (acoustic 6 strings).

What's the best Youtube channel to learn as a beginner?

Been in the market lately, might not cop one at the end of the year and start playing again.

Nice.

I’m a self taught guitarist. Been playing since 2003.

My first guitar was a hand me down from my Dad, a 1986 Ibanez Roadstar II…later on I got a Mexican Strat…now I have a solid body Harmony guitar with hotrail pickups…and an Epiphone Les Paul with dual humbucker pickups.

My main guitar influences are without a doubt

Ron Wasserman (wrote the MMPR and X-Men theme songs)

Tom Delonge (blink-182, Boxcar Racer, Angels and Airwaves)

Blake Schwarzenbach (Jawbreaker)

Dan Hoerner (Sunny Day Real Estate)

Scott Sellers (Rufio)

Jon Nolan (Taking Back Sunday)

Beau Burchell (Saosin)

Clark Domae (Rufio)

Justin Shekoski (Saosin)

Claudio Sanchez (Coheed and Cambria)

Chad Gilbert (New Found Glory)
