Some physicists think the universe infinitely cycles through the process of big bang, expansion, and contraction. If they're correct this means that each time the universe resets, for better or for worse, we'll possibly get a set of new starting circumstances for our next slice of consciousness after we die. So death would be somewhat like respawning in a video game but with a really long respawn timer. And if you're really attached to your current life, according to this theory, you'll get a chance to relive it again an infinite number of times. So don't worry about dying. In this universe it seems that consciousness is mandatory.

@Rhakim what are your thoughts on this theory? Getting to relive your life an infinite number of times seems pretty dreary and scary. If the universe is infinite in capacity then all possibilities exist, correct?

Reliving your exact same life over and over for eternity.....is that compatible with the beliefs of Christianity and Jesus?

Any theory of "souls" is a really tough one for me. Outside of Christianity, I don't see how a soul or a non-bodied consciousness could even exist. And even within Christianity, I'm not entire sure what souls are, what their full relationship to our bodies are, whether they can exist before and outside of some connection to our physical body, etc.

The physics theory of repeating universes is an interesting one. There's no evidence for it, but that doesn't mean it's impossible. However, most physicists either don't believe in souls and disembodied consciousness, or don't want to enter that stuff into their physics, so they don't really discuss it.

It really lies in our ego. Our narcism and our self-importance whether to our many roles or our family/friends. whatever we are binded to.

Once we shed that shyt. And live to service others. You tend to forget about yourself and realize life and fulfillment is beyond us.
We can only try to make others be good and hope it makes your efforts worthwhile.

I think about that shyt all time.

Only in the early waking seconds of the day. Every now and again it will hit me at that moment and sometimes it's so overwhelming I actually cry out :dame:. Then the rest of my cognitive functions kick in and I'm like :yeshrug: I can't recreate that feeling right now, even with talking about it, just has to be at that right moment. When I was younger I used to get the opposite feeling; "wow, I'm ALIVE." Haven't felt that way since I was a child.

This Jamie Foxx thing and the Lance Riddikk thing hitting me different. It just makes me think about how I will handle my time and I get so anxious. Why is life so fragile. :to:
You'll never know death and life at the same time. With that said live life to the fullest and treat your body right. Outside of that there's no need to worry about things you can't control. Robbing your quality of life today for a mysterious tomorrow.

No op I could die right now and I truly don’t give a fukk. Worrying about that kind of shyt is pointless. If ur time is up, ur time is up may as well not think about it
