Exactly

I don’t see who saw this nikka at Florida and thought he was first round material

Anybody that saw AR at Florida knew he was years away from being a starter in the NFL, raw as hell but “he’s 6’6 and can throw to mars!” blinded people.

Feels like NBA draft logic was used

We’re gonna use our high draft pick on a guy who has all the physical tools on paper but hasn’t actually produced, and hope that we can mold him into a star

Problem is NFL teams/fans also want immediate results which is antithetical to a long term project :skip:

Anthony Richardson is the youngest qb in the league. He's been trash so far during his young career but he has all the physical tools to be great. Idk what the Colts plan is with him now but he's only 10 games into his career. Hopefully some time on the bench will do him some good. He's a project qb who needs a lot of developing. If the Colts have given up on him I'd love to see someone like Sean Mcvay try their hand at developing him.

Absolutely inept move by the franchise. You don’t draft project and give up on him this quickly. It shows they are unable to develop, teach, or coach.

This exactly.

How do you draft a project QB then get mad he's a project?

They have no plan, other than trying to save their jobs by fighting for a 7th seed.

Which likely leaves us drafting too high to get a QB, so no real plan next year either. Flacco will be 40 before the season ends.

I hope the GM/HC/DC get cleaned out too.

Yikes dude looked like he had one of the highest ceilings among young QBs before he got hurt last yr
And putting "former 1st round pick" gives it the vibe like he ain't getting another opportunity :mjlol:

Ego. They want to be seen as the geniuses who "saw the potential" of someone with all of the tools, took the high pick risk, and fixed him.

I'm convinced 60% of the background/media heat on Purdy and Lamar comes from front offices salty that the 49ers/Ravens look like geniuses for "seeing the potential" and the others all passed multiple times in some cases.

At least he got 10. Trey Lance got like 2 1/2

As many missed blocks and dropped passes I have seen this team make for it to all boil down to him seems like sabotage. The coach continuing to call drops beyond three steps seeing the line isn't able to block anybody is crazy.......another franchise that sucks more than they think they do and dude is the scape goat now.
