Him shytting on sneaker culture is a lil weird. But I dunno, whatever. Lol

I guess violence around some releases?
I think he's just saying how people treat money overall and not placing your values and identity on materialistic things. When he was growing up he probably didn't have the means to focus on acquiring fancy clothes, shoes, materials (wants) but was focus on the basic needs such as food, regular clothes. :yeshrug:

Yeah I think brehs taking it to literal, Js/Sneaker culture just happen to catch a stray in the flow but his overall point shouldn’t be overlooked…

Plus it can’t be denied how ridiculous sneaker culture has become amongst young folks especially and he got teens so I’m sure he sees it and he’s still young enough to remember the early yrs of sneaker culture and the fukkery/violence involved in the NO of all places too..

He is right about masculinity men can’t talk a certain way, raise their voice, etc without being labeled abusive or toxic.

The way men express anger and frustration has been effectively muted and funny enough the rate of domestic violence and male on female homicide isn’t decreasing!

I have to disagree, your interpretation of masculinity is very linear and one dimensional. Masculinity is not just about expressing dominance. If men cannot express themselves without resorting to physical violence and intimidation, that highlights a much bigger issue.

He is virtually signalling himself as another potential podcast bro archetype.

Petty Vandross.. fukk Yall
Are y’all saying he can’t speak on this because he played a gay character?

Lmao how old are we deadass at some point it’s time to grow up
You can’t speak on masculinity when homosexuality is the very antithesis of of masculinity
Imagery is powerful
And I don’t have an issue with homosexuality and gay men can be very masculine in nature
But you out here acting gay but ain’t gay then speaking on what’s masculine
And a 15 year old boy knows nothing about defending a home
That 15 year old is still a child
Now of course it’s always protect family and your mother(unless she was a piece of shyt)
So there’s no argument there
But there are consequences a teenage boy might not fully understand the repercussions to especially a 15 year old black male
Him shooting an intruder and protecting his domain
The most logical person wouldn’t see an issue
But we are living in nonsensical times and that’s a lot of pressure for a young man
shyt even growing up in a single parent household
That was a lot of pressure
This conversation is way more nuanced than a bunch of signifying he is doing
Yes masculinity has been attacked for years
You see how quick nikkas fold like Jermaine Cole around here if you critique women or question funny style shyt and why nikkas get support
A full blown rapist is on this forum
Masculine men would’ve ran his bytch ass off here along time ago
Aubrey Graham isn’t masculine but the culture of bird nikkas and bytches prop him up
So ask yourself, do we really want to advocate for masculinity
All of what it entails
The good, bad, and ugly
Or are we just getting virtual “That’s right” while doing fukk shyt on and offline
