So does anyway see a time where trading all of those future picks and young talent for AD may cause a long term issue from the team development perspective.

Maybe but they won a championship so whatever happens next was worth it :yeshrug:

this is what I keep trying to tell a couple of Lakers fans I know. But they are under the assumption they can still trade for stars. They gave up a haul got for AD and for a ring...but they won’t have a lot of assets to trade for in the future.

Well when they brought lebron there it should've been understood that they had to do everything possible to win now....

To me it never made sense to worry about the assets.....

When now or in the future what difference does I t make?

If you have the chance to use them for something big like they did for AD .....use them

I wouldn’t have cared about the future then or now, but they had to have more of an assumption that AD could be a #1 option, and potentially be one in the absence of LeBron. I don’t think that’s very likely. Idk how long Bron plans on playing, but they’re pretty much stuck with riding those two out, scouting well in the draft, and praying they can keep on convincing good players to come for dirt

the latter seems fairly unlikely after seeing the tragedy that was the management of their center position. Somehow failed to get anything much out of all 3

if you keep ingram instead of Kuzma, you either

1 - never get AD because NO wanted Ingram

or

2 - Lose Ingram in a year anyway because the salary cap exists and you don't have 158 million to pay him while also paying AD his max and extending Lebron

seems ya'll always overlook the fact that Kuzma's 2 million dollar deal is the sole reason he wasn't included in the deal, aside from the fact that the Pelicans coveted BI

This is not how the salary cap works, Ingram's bird rights would have allowed the Lakers to go way over the cap to resign him. Instead, they'd be unable to make certain signings like acquiring Dwight, Schroeder or Trez (I believe they'd still have Rondo, Danny Green signings because they came in for MLE.)

Do you think we fire Vogel and hire Kidd to hold on to him?

fire him why?

because the team was injury prone during a shortened season with the shortest off season ever? (after a championship season)

as a lakers fan, you nikkas are embarrassing sometimes. Overreactions everywhere
