They lost the leverage once AD asked out. They can either take the best offer or lose him for free, the pressure is on them. No one can throw a better offer than Tatum, Hayward, maybe Rozier and a combination of 4 first round picks.

If the Grizzlies trade Gasol and Conley, we might have the first pick of 2021 on our hands.

I trust Ainge to do what's best. Hopefully he finesses these dudes:smugdraper:

New Orleans fans are going to be going his ass. Nothing worse as a fan than seeing a dude on the floor wearing your teams jersey knowing he wants to he traded.

They gon move him by the deadline imo.
It’s not gonna present itself that quickly.

If I’m the Hornets I don’t want Lavar Ball in my city.
Brooklyn has a team where if you add a superstar without losing anyone you’ve got something brewing. Gutting the Nets for AD just makes them Pels East

He won’t be traded till the summer fam :jawalrus: when Boston can get involved :sas2:

So if you're NO, how can you play him for the rest of the season with it being public that he wants to be traded? he's not a Kanter that you can just bury on the bench and not worry about bad press. It will be the talking point of every NO game for the rest of the season. Do you really want that hanging over your franchise?

Will he still be coachable knowing he doesn't care about the teams win/loss record or making the playoffs because he's gone as soon as the opportunity presents itself?
Can you imagine how hostile the home crowd will be towards him as the season drags along?

People booing every time he touches the ball for an entire half of the season?

Will Team chemistry be killed because everyone knows he doesnt want to be there?

Will they continue to pass him the ball knowing he isnt going to war with the team every night but rather biding his time until he can walk out the door?

will his demeanor and body language be that of someone trying to win in the city of New Orleans or will he turn into a malcontent?

That's too many variables to deal with if I'm running the franchise and could cause an already fragile fan base to completely turn on them. I think now would be selling high, because it gives the team trading for AD at least a full year to convince him to stay before having to trade him.

I feel like they are forced to make a trade now to mitigate any potential long term damage holding him to long (beyond how damaging it can be losing a top 5 player).

Orlando still hasn't recovered from losing Dwight.

Once Lonzo gets forced outta LA I don't think Lavar could say anything.
