I had to undap bc the lakers are going to have to give up Kuzma and Ingram, plus Zubiac and 3 first rounders for me even to consider the deal
Then fukk it. No reason for the Lakers to give away their team AND their cap for one guy.

Why the hell should they do that when they can keep all those guys AND the picks AND sign a max free agent in the summer?

Let the Pelicans have fun getting a poor man's version of that deal next year when everyone realizes they're not gonna mortgage their team for a one-year rental of AD.

Magic is a idiot listening to ESPN and others about the lakers need to do something

Motherfukker u not winning this year regardless....Stopped trying to rush because of Lebron saying so or media pressure

Focus on the off season and getting a big name free agent and then go out and shipped Lonzo, either Ingram or kuzma(not both) and someone else for another player

Unless that name say steph or Durant on it, I’m not trading my whole roster

None of this is wrong.

The biggest issue is that the Lakers don't have anyone down low and there aren't a lot of 1st-tier options to get someone down low either. Will Cousins be good enough to bet on by the summer?

After that you're looking at DeAndre Jordan if the Knicks don't resign him, Marc Gasol or Jonas Valanciunas if they don't pick up their options. Are they worth the contracts they would want? Cause if you don't get them...who is your center?

A crazy not-so-crazy option would be if you had enough money to score Khris Middleton AND had a bit leftover for a recovered-and-revived Dwight Howard. I can see Howard signing a cheap deal with a contender, and with all his issues he was giving Charlotte 17 and 13 with almost 2 blocks a game last year. What better option would the Lakers have?

Then next year you could see if things look liked they were working, or you could trade the young guys for Dame or some other unhappy star.

:mjlol: Imagine how the Lakers and their fans feel now that the Pels are making it clear that they think Tatum > Their entire young core
Not sure why ninjas denying this. Maybe cause he plays for the Celtics. The entire league seems to love Tatum:hubie:

The Pelicans now want 4 1st round picks for Anthony Davis.

4!

Damn it, if Phoenix got 2 1st rounders out of Miami for Goran freakin' Dragiç, the Lakers, out of respect for Anthony Davis, should willingly offer 4 and then gladly fork over 5 1st rounders and 3 2nd rounders for AD.

STAND-YOUR-GROUND, Pelicans!

They want it. You got it. You're in no rush.

LeBron's prime and the Lakers salary cap both have a shelf life while you can keep AD for this year AND next year ...out if spite...and then let him walk and give the Lakers a discount

I think Bron and Rich should’ve moved more quietly in this, save the cap for AFTER the deal gets done. Even tho you’ve lined the entire NBA’s pockets since 2003, they still don’t want a nikka having things and controlling their destiny :francis:

The way I see it that the league as a whole wins when Bron has a chance at winning a championship, why block the trickle down blessings?:comeon:

At this point if I'm on Lebron's brain trust I'm saying to Bron what has Magic Johnson ever done as an team president except sign you when you was already coming

The NBA got to promise the Pelicans a top three pick in the draft the next two years to just get this thing done

NBA is trending towards two star teams because of the cap the bounce back from the Heat and Warriors coming together after all these years so with the Knicks believing once again they can get two stars league should be on notice KD and Kyrie are the best one on one players in the league and certain teams their second guy isn't as good as needed for different reasons like age, injury history, what they do on the court, and cap on talent abilities.
