1. Incorrect....The pistons offered him the contact extension in 2016 before October as that is the deadline to extend the contracts for impending restricted free agents coming off their rookie contracts..... Once his team (agency) rejected that deal the pistons extended the qualifying offer in the summer of 2017 then decided to recind it and release him after they decided to trade for Bradley as KCP was looking for a max deal

How we got here
Before the season, Caldwell-Pope was offered a four-year, $80 million deal, according to a person with firsthand knowledge of the Pistons front office.

The person requested anonymity because of the sensitive nature of contract negotiations.

But the team was told that Caldwell-Pope wanted to test free agency and let the Oct. 31 deadline pass, a common negotiating tactic of Klutch Sports, Paul’s agency.


2.That isn't even the main point who cares about the time line really .. The MAIN point is why the fukk would Lebron James instruct his agent to prioritize getting Kentavious Caldwell fukkin Pope to the Lakers period :heh:






Why the fukk would you "need" KCP to take a one year deal to free up future cap space when you (the Lakers) could just not sign anyone and carry over that space in the first place.... How did or why would telling KCP to reject that extension offer in 2016 serve as a benifit to LeBron James :dead:

Hope Pelicans don't accept that deal cause Magic is dumb as fuk. In no way is this a good trade. Sign AD and "hope" we get another max player next season? What if we don't?

You keep at least one of the young core for backup just incase shyt goes south.

This shyt is about to blow up on the Pelicans. If Kyrie doesn't resign with Boston then Boston isn't giving up Tatum because AD wouldn't resign there without Kyrie. At that point all the Pelicans would get from Boston are draft picks and a bunch of salary to make the deal work.
