Honestly, he doesn't have to. Why would you deplete the entire roster at this point in the season when you wont be able to realistically compete for a title?

The pelicans are just bitter. They know they have zero chances of signing a big name free agent this summer and no leverage with Davis after this season.

And yes, there will be better offers, but if Davis doesn't reup with those teams in 2020, who is going to give up a lot to get him?

I honestly think, the Lakers will have the best offer when it's all said and done. Kuzma and Ball equal AD's offensive production alone. The pelicans defense already sucked with Davis in the lineup so it's not like you need a huge defensive stopper back in return. The Pelicans are a trash ass team which is why they want to leave in the first place.
