people dont join the police force to "protect and serve" they join because its a high salary job with a good pension.. remove the last 2p arts and we'll get people who really want to help neighborhoods and people !
I know a few people who joined/joining CHP or police.. aint none of the reasons any of them joined was to "help people in bad situations or to protect people from potentional situations" it was cause it started at $90k/year and good pension and benefits
make it a $45k/year job and pension depending on 20 years of service minimum and we'll see who really wants to "protect and serve"
