why not. i was just tryna avoid the dreaded "tl;dr" plus im faded. all that being said, this chick probably has little to no idea about WHY dressing up in black face is reprehensible. black history, especially when if comes to cinema, probably isn't the first thing on her mind; people will take her side in the argument because they are equally ignorant. on the flip side, black people will get aggy because, and maybe i'm wrong, they were just taught that black face is bigotry. they don't think about the details of being portrayed as c00ns and also having but a handful of actors even allowed to represent us. plus we end up pointing a finger at each other because some folks say "well it doesn't offend me and i'm black.".So, painting one's face black is not in itself racist but it has become taboo. i just don't think many people think about why it's taboo before they comment. racial tensions are higher than ever, imo, so an incident like this could be the catalyst for some kind of community wide violence where no one knows what their really fighting for. all they know is that the other side exists and 'they don't want you to succeed' (succeed at what? well, anything!).
the racism is passed down as a tradition and without context, so a lot of people are ignorant about ignorance. it's just a matter of time before something big happens.
still using this story as an example, i'm not offended and i am black.
that little white is girl is stupid as fukk for doing this. i look like an a$$hole being mad at a retard, right? ha. she should know better. i forgive her though. she probably has many more issues to deal with being a 'professional dancer'.
and as far as shyt popping off as a whole, the reason it's going to get ugly is because white people (as an institution, not necessarily personally) can't accept that their reign on top was shorter than leprechauns. these nikkas thought they were gonna get a few thousand years outta this shyt. it fukks with their psyche just how great black (and all other peoples) are. in half a century, we went from being 3 fifths of a man to POTUS. while their only cultural shifts have been garbage weed to to meth. bahaha. im gettin off topic, tho...

I will say though that I was offended or maybe annoyed, but at the response to this whole thing, rather than the act itself. You're right on point about the ignorance and lacking context. A lot of white folks claim to be genuinely clueless about why this would be considered offensive. And, I'm really tired of whites trying to dictate how we as black people should respond to their hatred. I'm getting sick of them and their shyt, period tbh. I don't know, man, being online more and constantly seeing these bogus incidents pisses me off to the point where I really just do not want them around me. And it's also irritating to see all these black folks giving them a pass so as not to make waves. I mean, even low key in this thread (and on this entire site) it seems like dudes are willing to let a lot of slick shyt slide. ESPECIALLY when the culprit is a white woman.
