What point in the video does he fire at them?It's hard to tell especially without audio but honestly it looks like he bucked off a shot. I have no idea why you would do that with multiple officers & national guard trained on you, maybe he was tired of shyt and snapped, I don't know, it's a tragedy either way. The officers/national guard react to being fired at by taking cover...
I've watch this video a bunch of times trying to spot the instances where he shot at them.
It looks like they just walked up and shot breh, they didnt even flinch or take cover like they were being shot at, looked calm as fukk.
But it did look like dude dropped a gun from the inside video, but its understandable for someone to want to have their gun nearby during these times.

I was hoping that was the case and ain’t see it at first either, but it looks like at 2:20 and 2:28 he leans out and lifts his right arm diagonally.

Possibly at 2:28 but you can't really see much, like it looks like he extended his arms out of the door frame, and actually now that I rewatched it you're right, the officers didn't retreat until they had already fired, I was thinking they retreated and then returned fire. These videos are so shytty. I really can't say with any certainty what happened, but I'm really not ready to say this guy was 100% innocent. I'd love to hear from witnesses, because the guy behind him right as he shot didn't even react, you'd think he'd kinda jump back or react or something.

He could have leaned out the door to motion for people to get inside because of the commotion. Look at his body language, he's not using to wall for cover or anything, hes standing in the doorway casually before getting shot.
Look how no one around him reacts until he gets shot, the gun doesn't even look like it fell out of the hand he was waving out the door.
Look how the woman points at the gun like she didnt even realize he had it, she wouldn't have reacted like that if dude was squeezing off shots at the cops, none of those brehs would have been that calm if breh was really bucking off.
I'm gonna need more proof because this video looks like they just saw a black man with a gun and opened fire.

It does look like he exchanged fire with em.
But it looks like the first shot was fired at about the 5 minute mark. This is what causes everyone to run inside. It seems to be fired by the cops since they keep approaching. They react very differently once McAtee returns fire. That’s when they start retreating and seeking cover. I don’t always see these things clearly, so I’m welcome to someone providing alternate interpretations.
Regardless of what happened here, all of the officers involved should be at least suspended without pay for not having their body cams on. Until they start getting punished for that, they’re going to keep “forgetting” to activate them, which just robs the PD of giving the full story. If the PD is serious about transparency, they need to punish cops who subvert that.

You bring up completely valid points. And this is why police bodycams should be on at all times. Why do they even have the power to turn them off other than to commit corrupt acts? I just wonder if the group of people who came in had a previous interaction with that group of officers and they seeked refuge in his restaurant
