See that is the thing with the Conjuring Universe...they don't really give you high body counts where the villain just massacres people. This shyt is some Goosebumps type stuff for adults and knowing that I never go into them expecting to see lots of kills.

true but in the context of the Annabelle series that doesn't work because the stakes were higher in Creation and they lowered the stakes with this one

in Creation you had a whole house full of people being terrorized, you felt like anyone could get murked at any point and some people did

in this one you had 4 people being terrorized but it never felt like they were seriously threatened until the third act, off that alone this movie felt like a downsize compared to Creation

maybe i'm doing too much comparing cause as a stand alone flick this wasn't bad :manny: just expected them to level up a bit instead of downsizing

True but, to me, this really wasn't an Annabelle movie as much as it was a The Conjuring movie.
Everything about it even when Ed and Lorraine weren't onscreen was presented more like that corner of this movie universe than the more visceral horror that the previous Annabelle movies were presenting.

ehhh it was kinda light

the biggest jump/scare in the theater was the appearance of the demon in the bedroom and when he appeared in front of ol girl when she tried to put the doll back in the case

Saw it last night. The stupidity of Daniela kept me from being immersed. The Bob guy was too obviously going to be a last minute hero

but that wherewolf and the chicken :sadcam:

Was decent, but proved why I catch most horror at home, they’re rarely worth the price of admission. Plus this silly teen/college couple was running around the theater trying not to get caught by security, I’m too old for this shyt, when I pay for a movie at the bootleg thereafter it’s becaise I expect no one there and to be able to enjoy it :beli:

This was alright overall. I didn’t dislike it. But yea this seemed like light work and I never truly got the feeling things would get any heavier. No need for a second viewing.

I’d put the second Annabelle over this one. Man I didn’t like the first one...admittedly though I’ve yet to watch any of the actual Conjuring films.

That said this probably would’ve gave out a better feeling towards the audience as a stand-alone film and not part of this franchise.

What's the order to watch all of the related flicks in before I check this out? Is any of that needed to see this flick?

It was lightweight. Not terrible but definitely not to my expectations. Annabelle: Creation was a big improvement over the first one. This was a step back.

The Nun was underwhelming too. Maybe The Conjuring cinematic universe has run its course. We’ll see for sure when Conjuring 3 comes out.

Moviegoer Passes Away During Annabelle Comes Home Screening

Annabelle Comes Home, like the other films in both the Annabelle franchise and The Conjuringfrom which the films spun off, is meant to be scary. The story of possessed doll Annabelle and the havoc caused when demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren bring the creepy object into their home's artifact room both terrifies and engages audiences -- so much so that it's currently sitting at the number 4 spot at this weekend's box office. But for moviegoers in a recent viewing of Annabelle Comes Home in Thailand, the terror moved from on screen to real life when a man was found dead in the theater after the film.

According to a report from India Times, 77-year-old Bernard Channing was found dead in his seat after Annabelle Comes Home, discovered by the woman sitting next to him when the theater lights came back on after the film had ended. Channing, who was visiting Thailand on vacation, was attended to by emergency services before being pronounced dead at the theater.

"There were some people at the entrance talking with staff," witness Monthira Phengrat told reporters. "They were in the cinema where the man died, and they were very upset. They were shocked by what had happened. Some people had been sitting near the dead man. The cinema staff were very concerned, and they tried to prevent anybody from seeing what was happening. We were prohibited from taking pictures."

According to police, the cause of Channing's death is currently unknown but foul play is not suspected.

"Police were notified of the death at 8 p.m. inside the cinema in a shopping mall," Lieutenant Colonel Polpattham Thamachat said. "From the preliminary investigation it was not known how the foreign man had died but doctors will conduct an autopsy to establish the true cause of death. We are not looking for anybody else connected to the death. We do not believe there was suspicious foul play."

This incident marks the second time there's been a death at the screening of a film in The Conjuring franchise. Back in 2016 during a screening of The Conjuring 2, a 65-year-old man taking in an evening showing of the film in Andrah Pradesh, India suffered a heart attack and died. It was later found that he had also had a massive stroke and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Cursed franchise :merchant:
