So far the Angels have paid Anthony Rendon:

- $482,817 per game
- $26,823,191.60 per win-above-replacement (WAR)
- $4,389,249.53 per home run
- $111,676.18 per plate appearance

Rendon has 3 years and $114M remaining on his contract after this season.

The amount of terrible contracts in baseball rn is staggering
They definitely need to move towards basketballs shorter contract structure in the future

Strasburg is definitely the worst though. That's probably gonna go down as the worst contract in sports history

I've said this before. 80-90% of these big free agent signings are AIDS. The length on them is crippling.

They need to reduce the service time in the beginning so these guys are hitting free agency in the 26-28 range and max out the deals at five years like the NBA.

I don't follow baseball at all, so I was shocked at what I saw. Dude fell off literally the second he signed the deal. Like BAD. How could that happen?
Dating back to his college days & early in his career with Nats he dealt with a lot of injuries (Nats got him with the 6th pick because of injury concerns. Best hitter in draft probably goes #1 without the injury bug). His last 4 seasons with the Nats it seemed he put those injury issues behind him :lolbron:
