To be fair, from that vid, young isn't devaluing anything or trying to justify X as okay because of Y. He is stating a fact that certain issues are assigned values of importance lesser/greater than the impact they're actually outputtin which by any objective measure is flawed logic.

In the video he pushed the spotlight from racists whites to self destructive blacks.

Terrible timing to focus on black on black violence especially since its an effect of black people being forced to live in poor areas thanks to oppression.

He didnt even do it lowkey, he straight up said the flag isnt the issue, its actually black on black crime that is the issue lol.

Black on black crime is an issue but bringing it up when another one is getting steam is not beneficial at all, especially when the point he switches it to is a cop out used by racist whites.

Secondly, you're strawmannin hard. Young never claimed that the flag at all cost shouldn't/should be removed from Capitol grounds or certain institutions. Young never argued that the flag has some objective meaning. Young is arguing about the degree of significance being awarded to the "Flag debate" issue as a whole. This notion that I or Young is arguing that the flag objectively represent X or Y is something you made up or misinterpreted. And now you're arguing that misinterpretation, and expecting me to play along. This is what we call a strawman fallacy.

The main topic was me saying that he didn't need to change the topic about the banning of the flag to black on black violence since that takes attention away from the flag.
