Professional comedy has gotten a bit ridiculous IMO

It's strange that it's become such a relevant thing in culture. Some people were good at jokes, impersonations etc. Sometimes you would go to a show or club, or watch a comedy movie - it was just a thing that existed

This whole need to legitimize it into some sacred craft in recent years and politicize it just feels strange. Then the parasocial element kicks in.

There's obviously a business interest in doing this, but it doesn't sit right with me seeing it become something for enthusiasts in this way

2 reasons:

1. Schultz is a lowkey white supremacist
who loathes black people and mostly sees us as destructive, ill tempered and not serious. As our world becomes more integrated, There is a growing subset of cacs who if you listen to them talk, really have nothing good to say about Black people despite having black friends and consuming some product of Black culture. They dont like “us” collectively and ignore any historical context that explains the negative factors of the Black experience.

He is incensed because “how dare this beast criticize my art when his own people are so ignorant?”

2. For almost a decade now Dave Chappelle and Joe Rogan have perpetuated the narrative that comedy is under attack and now every comedian swears any criticism against them is a exponential leap toward book burning. Completely ignoring the idea that comedy isnt any more censored than before.
There's no low key about it. It's just some brehs are too blind to see it.

I've met his type in real life and online. They have this I'm too intelligent for you but I will slum it with you black people to enrich myself aura.

There are people on this forum who have the same mentality.

Yeah that's also right but even IF there was a joke in there he still couldn't decide how people react to it.
It's on the jokester to know his audience.

He's completely aware of what he's doing.

He wants to provoke a response so he can play victim and point the finger and be like "look how uncivilized you people are".

He did exactly this to that same black co-host on that couch (Alex, not Char) in the past.

Dave don’t even fukk with Schulz. So how yall blame him for this story? Where is the connection? :heh:

Now if yall want to attack him for hanging out with Rogan or Musk, I got nothing to say.
Way too many of these Black comics show racist cac comics grace that everyday Black folk will smack fire on.

Dave opened the door being chummy with these types, so if your sell out ass enjoys their brand of comedy, by all means, deepthroat that shyt. But Dave’s power gave many of these clowns a gateway

You know how ridiculous you sound right now?

Blaming Dave for the sins of someone that he don’t even fukk with is so ridiculous. :heh:

:dahell:

They are not friends though. Dave don’t like this cac because Andrew and his little Indian sidekick were talking shyt about him when he was trying to get paid by Comedy Central.
You know...about 15 years ago, an ex of mines who was a big time analyst told me about her cac friend who "casually" told her how my ex would get a job before her because she's Black. And another cac co-worker told her the same thing. I got pissed and said that she needs to confront them right then and their on their passive racism because being quiet on it will snowball into it being a sentiment that will have teeth in the future. The next cac who tried ot run that game on her she pulled out data to shut dude down, but the damage was done in letting those other two "friends," who I'm certain are Trump voters, slide.

Chappelle being friends with Rogan and accepting the accolades from cac comics who celebrated his trans attacks helped validate a lot of those buffoons and created the climate we have today.

dikk Gregory was the biggest comic of his era at one time and knew where to draw the line in dealing with these folks, and it cost him.

Dave Chappelle had his moment when he realized cacs were laughing AT him rather than WITH him when he decided to end the Chappelle show, which I applauded him for. But something happened after that. He wasn't consistent.

He's no dikk Gregory.

youre completely missing the point. Its irrelevant whether Dave or Rogan are directly tied to Schultz. The issue is they are the elder statesmen of comedians and their increasingly whiny opinion on the “sacredness of comedy and how the woke is destroying it!” has made it acceptable to lash out like Schultz is doing.

I notice this in a lot of stuff.

Someone posted a Lexington Steele interview on here and the guy was talking like it was a sacred artform on some philosophical shyt.

I feel like everyone is trying to find a deeper meaning in what they are doing and then trying to convince the world of it. I think there is both good and bad in that

EDIT: it's like people want to convince themselves and us that they are leaving a big footprint in the culture. Maybe so they can charge more, or maybe it's to feel important. But then again the good out of it is that it pushes some people to do their best.
