It’s almost like nikkas didn’t listen to OutKast.

After Dre said the famous “the south got something to say “ rant …he spent the next two classic albums shytting on rap.. He complained about the shyt labels was doing ,the type of music that was becoming popular and the fact he got criticized for not being on that fake gangsta shyt on ATLiens ..

The nikka was in his mid to late 20s damn near fed up with this rap shyt and we shocked he flabby as hell and is saying what he is saying .

Andre comes off as a nikka who fell in and out of love with rap..and instead of faking it he stepped away ..ain’t shyt wrong with that ,
Most of these cats did not even listen to what he said here.

They just came here mad emotional and barking :pachaha:

Dude clearly gave old rappers their flowers, recognized that they don't get wack with time and are still making good music

His point was not about old rappers not making good music

You only named a handful of artists which is proving my point.

The vast majority of rappers aren't doing anything at 50 nor releasing their best work. There's been a stigma about old rappers and not being cool well before Dre said anything.

:dahell: the younger generation is steeped in wackness. How many more Lil Whatever’s mumbling their way through tacks with god awful autotune are releasing classics?

LL legit put out one of the best albums in his discography this year.

Andre has nothing left to talk about, which is fine, but just say that and move on already.

He did say that:russ:

That's literally his entire point so why are y'all mad? Everything he said was about himself but y'all twisted it to him saying no one should be rapping at 50. He's only been speaking from his perspective and why he doesn't feel like rapping.

He's comfortable in his position but he does an interview and gets asked about it but y'all say he's ranting like he's the one who brings these subjects up. Y'all want him to stop talking because you're uncomfortable with the honesty of growing old in hip hip.

Mind you this is the same genre of music that's been called "a young man's game" for decades...Same genre that has rappers lying about their age because they need to appeal to the youth...Same genre that clowns rappers like Griselda or 2Chainz who get known after 30...Same genre where young rappers tell the old rappers they need to step aside and let them shine

I don't get 80% of the replies in here. It's almost like most of you are his age or close enough and you're offended he's being realistic about age and just stating his opinion instead of clapping & rapping when ya'll tell him to lol.....nah that can't be it

Because let's be honest, and this might hurt some feelings in fact I know it will, besides you coli nikkas and 1 coli bytch (respectfully) nobody's listening to LL and Nas in 2025 except you old nikkas. The labels know it, LL & Nas etc know it, and nobody expects 200k first weeks. The shyt's for people who were there when they were there and want a refill, and that's cool.

He didn't say anything offensive, if anything it's 100% true. Otherwise how come labels aren't beating down doors and rushing to sign rappers 40 and up? Why has the industry from punk to rock, hip hop etc only gone after youth? Old nikkas will sign 360s too, it's better than signing up to wear the brown and yellow at the united parcel services

The youth have and always will dictate culture, Dre's saying "I'm 50, what more can I say to you nikkas". What's Nas telling you nikkas that he didn't already tell you 30 years ago with the chipped tooth huh? Dre feels like he's mostly already said what he's had to say and that's fine, just like Nasir giving you a 2024 facelift on shyt he's already mostly said. Both sides of the coin are fine, and if Dre wants to channel his creative shyt outside what he's expected to do, that's fine too.

Exactly.

Nas still telling Queens street stories and tales from his youth. That's fine for Nas but all Dre said is that he's the type of artist who wants to talk about his current life without looking back. His current life isn't interesting enough to make an album about so he isn't making a rap album. As he said no one wants to hear about having to get colonoscopies and other realities of being 50 because rappers still have to maintain their cool even when they're past being that to the mainstream audience they once had.

People aren't listening to what he says and it's because either they are mad he "broke up Outkast", won't give them another album, think he's taking subliminal shots at the old rapper they love, are mad people rank him highly, or feel like he's saying their old asses aren't cool anymore.

Dre explains why he doesn't feel motivated to rap and their response is to tell him he needs to rap. Make it make sense.

Not only is the list short, look how far he had to go back for examples. Added a producer to pad the argument lmao. Of course you can be a producer and be old, that is unless the stems don't have anything left to say, which is what Stacks said.
Exactly.

Nas still telling Queens street stories and tales from his youth. That's fine for Nas but all Dre said is that he's the type of artist who wants to talk about his current life without looking back. The Outkast stuff bleeding over has to be it. Even then it's like, if they get back together and it's not good, they've been as far apart as you can be for decades, same ones shytting on him for not going back will shyt on him & Big Boi for it. Can't really win.

Andre's main point was shyt has to go on and keep moving, why try to relive shyt when you lived it already? New shyt needs to get made, new ways of doing shyt need to happen, reinvention, etc. And that primarily happens with the youth experimenting. His way of that for him was the flute album. Instead of seeing it that way and just accepting it's what he's on, you don't have to like it or listen at all, they tore the dude down and ran behind naked sleepwalking coke fiends like Budden kicking his back in

Tying everything together, a lot of people in The Booth will not be able to wrap their heads around going to random people on the street and asking them what's the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word "Nas" and they get told Old Town Road. A lot of motherfukkers have been born since Illmatic and now, it's nothing Nasir Jones has done, it's just what happens with time & age. Just like Alexander The Great conquered whole continents, ask most people which ones, most can't tell you one and don't give a fukk either lmao, same thing. Everything gets lost to time & age, shyt either evolves or stays in the past. 3k's telling them "want my old shyt, buy my old album, I gotta keep it moving" but they'll take it when Jay says it lol

Who is acting like you shouldn't push back on his opinion. It's one thing to say "I think he's wrong" or "I disagree". It's the "he's annoying" or being mad at him for answering the same question he's been asked for years that people are pushing back on. Ya'll chose to click on the links, discuss the same opinion for X amount of timea for X amount of years. It's easily avoidable if it annoys you or angers you.
nikka annoying bruh. Lol. I dont care what none of u nikkas say. He annoying af. Lol. He been annoying to me for YEARS so don't bring up that "I can tell u guys didn't listen to him over x amount of years" shyt with me. I been said son act like his shyt don't stink and damn near fukked up Big Boi's career with his pretentious antics and "views".

fukked up part bout this nikka is he took a HOBBY. Made an album and got a Grammy nom for it. Real flutist prolly pissed tf off cause this nikka never even tried to REALLY learn how to play the flute and he basically a novice yet getting all these accolades based on his pretentious persona he got from being skilled at something he seems to look down on.

But if he annoys you so much and has been doing it for years, why do you keep entertaining the interviews where he's asked his opinion as if he's purposely doing it to get on your nerves. If you aren't Big Boi, who understandably would have an issue with him because Andre 3000's decisions have had a direct effect on his money and livelihood, why are you annoyed and mad? Especially since Big Boi doesn't even talk about Andre 3000 to that degree. In fact, they still hang together.
