I haven't beaten it but it's a step down from 2 so far.
The absurdity of the set pieces has worn thin on me personally and it doesn't help that the graphics are so terrible it's nearly impossible to tell what's going on. The combat is the same you're used to with a few interesting additions but nothing that feels like a major positive progression for the series. They obviously took the majority of their cues from DMCV with this one and I wish they would have stay in their own lane because while the games have always been similar, Bayonetta has enough personality/character to be her own solid game. A LOT of the story is too similar to the DMCV in the way the game starts and introduces new characters that serve the same purpose when you compare the characters.
