I always wanted to see an "epic" style movie about ancient Egypt. sort of like braveheart , gladiator or Alexander.
I also always wonedered why Hollywood always fails at making a film about those times in human history. like that crap 10000b.c.
Im wondering why this type of movie isn't being made in modern times. I don't think anything since the 60s joint "Cleopatra" has garnered any critical acclaim or box office success tackling the era.
i always thought how cool it would be to see a movie surrounding the times and location of the pyramids of giza and the sphinx on a big budget scale. big name actors like denzel, halle berry, or angela basset , jada pinkett playing the pharoahs and queens and shyt.
i just read that Angelina jolie has been trying to do Cleopatra for years but directors keep refusing the project. was Cleopatra a white woman?
anyway my question is why hasn't speilberg or oliver stone, or oprah or any deep pocket celeb tried to make a new epic ancient Egypt film. would it be too complicated to make? would anybody care to see it? (other than me)
thoughts?
