Ill admit i was wrong.I'll say lebron has improved as a shooter and has made it a strength almost. That being said, the league has a whole has softened to a point where I have to question the competitiveness. The league is watered down at this point, a prime bron would reek havoc. Its way too easy to score. Defense don't mean shyt these days, NBA is becoming like NBA2k. Zero integrity.

All of this talk about modern defense is bullshyt when you watch Bron hitting turnaround fadeaways and logo threes that NO ONE in bball history is gonna be locking him up on.
If defense didn't mean shyt, then people like you wouldn't have complained when Bron slouched on defense in 2019 and you wouldn't have raved about his renewed defensive effort in 2020 or constantly lauded AD's defensive impact. If defense didn't mean shyt, then Towns would be a dominant player and no one would complain about Jokic being an MVP candidate. If defense didn't matter, then the Blazers wouldn't constantly be looking for defenders to prop up Dame/CJ (who should be the most dominant guard combo in the league otherwise) and the Nets wouldn't be desperately looking for defenders to put around Harden-Kyrie-KD. If defense didn't matter, then there wouldn't be Laker fans saying they miss Dwight and the Clips wouldn't have let Trez leave for nothing.
Defense is more difficult than ever before because you have 4-5 guys on the court who can hit the three and offensive schemes that allow perfect spacing and movement to exploit that advantage. But since everyone has shooters, defense still matters otherwise you're behind the curve.
The funny thing is, people who bytch and claim that no one plays defense are the same ones who prop up the 1980s as beautiful basketball even though they played far worse defense in that era despite having far less of the court to cover.
That's obviously false when you see offensively explosive teams like the Nets lose back-to-back games to a mediocre squad like the Cavs due to their lack of defense. Same with the Pelicans and Zion. Teams with inadequate defenses always get exposed.
