Why can't people like an artist without being accused of dikkriding?

Its getting out of hand.

People making it seem like were all getting "Camden" or "Back To Black" tattooed on our chest or something.

There is a difference between fans and stans

Stop getting immature and using the word "dikkriding" for every little thing in life.

it has nothing to do with liking her... it has to do with ppl ignoring her for the time she was out... then shes on the nas cd and everyone starts dikk RIDING

didn't I just give my story on the first page?

I just hate it when people say "everyone" so literally

I bought both her albums after I heard her single with Ghostface back in 2006. If someone got into her later, I have no problem with that, but I hate when people start supporting an artist because they died. Everytime a major artist dies , check itunes and watch the sales skyrocket. People all of a sudden become long time "fans". Same thing happened to Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston.

Well its not unsual for the sales to skyrocket. You have to be realistic. You can't really expect the sales to not increase alot in cases like that.

Because whether or not they were fans before, people just want to reminisce and it reminds them...

Like with Donna Summer. I think the many of the people speaking about growing up on her genuingly were fans.

Although I do admit that it disturbs and bothers me when certain old people speak about how growing up they were big fans of a certain singer and talk about "music not being the same nowadays"......

How you gonna claim to be a supposed Aretha Franklin "fan" , and the songs you only ever sing are "Respect" and "Natural Woman"(that applies to many women out there) :wtf:

But back to your point, I know you said you don't have a problem if someone gets into them later....but we have to be real also, I think even in a situation where they discover them through death isn't as bad as people make it out to be.

Sometimes its things like that, which end up finally bringing the attention to people. Not everyone can focus on multiple artists before they die.

Why the fukk do you nikkas keep making threads about her?

Might as well just make a all encompassing Soul and Rnb thread, nikkas acting like they just started listening to soul.

Ill make the same comment I made in the other thread on her:

Like I said to the guy on the other page but apparently people can't listen so Ill say it again. Stop ASSUMING that Amy is all people are listening to. your the type of person that listens to 5 songs on a person's ipod and thinks they only listen to that artist. That's the problem with people, they assume way too damn much all the time. Not once did anyone say that there weren't any better singers than Amy. Like said in another thread, Beyonce most definitely has a better voice and better range than Aaliyah, but many people like myself just connect with her music more.

Here is some of my playlist(not including hip hop)

D'Angelo
Donny Hathaway
Michael Jackson
The Delfonics
The Stylistics

Isaac Hayes
Stevie Wonder
Al Green
John Coltrane
Raphael Saadiq
Teddy Pendergrass
Katsuo Ono
Thelonius Monk
Frank Sinatra
Nat King Cole
Sam Cooke
Bob Marley& The Wailers
The Jimi Hendrix Experience

Amy Winehouse Jhene Aiko

Corinne Bailey Rae
Aaliyah
Janelle Monáe
Niki Haris
Jill Scott
Laura Nyro
Kate Bush
Carole King
Ella Fitzgerald
Melanie Fiona

Ed Sheeran
The Isley Brothers
Elton John

I'm very diverse with the music I listen to and I constantly update my playlist and keep documents on wordpad(for singing and emceeing) about artists on my playlist and artists I need to check out in the future. So don't assume **** breh again.

That's the last time I'm gonna say this since you and that other dude can't seem to listen

^YOu aren't in dudes ipods. Stop telling them what you think they don't listen to. I'm sure you can find artists you did not expect in that "What are you listening to" thread.
