Most of them are saying this because they don't want to lose moderate voters and unfortunately in their elections they need those moderates in order to win. If they win, watch what they say once in office not right now.

its not like this is unique to democrats. Clarence Thomas isn't retiring, and four years ago Scalia died under a democratic president because he didn't want to retire under the Bush Administration.

Because conservatives follow their party. I’m certain were conservative justice was asked to step down to bring in young conservative judge woulda most likely happened
