Khan: We've Had No Response on Pacquiao Fight
Posted by: Edward Chaykovsky on 8/5/2014 .

By Edward Chaykovsky

Amir Khan (29-3, 19KOs) is ready to fight his former stablemate, WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao. Khan returns in December and Pacquiao will defend his title against Chris Algieri on November 22nd in Macau. Khan and Pacquiao once trained together under coach Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, California. In 2013, Khan broke away from Roach and hired trainer Virgil Hunter.

Khan says he told Golden Boy Promotions, and his adviser Al Haymon, that he's open to the idea of facing Pacquiao, but his team never received a response on the fight.

"The Manny fight can still happen at some point,” Khan told The Guardian. “My promoters, Golden Boy, and Bob Arum are about to start working together again. Me and Manny sparred a lot, and I often went with him to the Philippines, so it would make a great fight. I’ve left it with my team and my adviser Al Haymon and I told them: ‘I like the Manny fight.’ But we’ve had no response."

Manny Pacquiao vs Amir Khan would be a much bigger and better fight than Manny Pacquiao vs Chris Algieri. People would definitely tune in to watch that fight, so why no response back from Pacquio, his team, or TR?:lupe:

#AlgieriAssassins defeating Ruslan is bigger than anything Khan has done since losing back to back to Swift and Peterson.

Khan needs to defeat an avoided beast like #Thurminators before he can start acting like he deserves some big fight. Collazo was cool, but dude was a fringe contender at best. shyt, and before that he was getting knocked around the ring by Diaz.

Khan needs to :camby:

Khan is by far a better fighter than Chris Algieri breh.

Ruslan Provodnikov is an ESPN fighter who Bradley blew breath in his lungs to give him some life and Prov has only happened to beat Mike "Average" Alvarado....and that's it.

Chris Algieri does NOT deserve this bullshyt fight and is the worst PPV fight matchup in recent history that I can think of. Khan vs Pacquiao is the much better fight.

Of course Khan is a better fighter than Algieri, but he isn't the HOTTER fighter right now.

Considering all of the limited options Manny has, Aligieri ain't that bad of a fight. He's fighting a dude that could potentially be a nightmare style for him. Is it the best fight? NO, but it's not the worst fight. That's actually happening this weekend on Showtime. :mjlol:

If Khan really wants to kick down doors and make a name for himself, he needs to fight a real legit threat and win. Keith Thurman is that fight.

:russ: at worst PPV fight match up in recent history. Aligieri is better than Robert the fukking Ghost. shyt, like Danny Williams vs Vitali wasn't ppv.

Algieri is better than Robert Guerrero breh?:dwillhuh:

Nah, Floyd "Fresh Out of Jail" Mayweather vs Robert Guerrero is better matchup than Manny Pacquiao vs Chris Algieri. Manny is fighting a tuneup, not even for the 140 belt....there's no excuse or reason for this fight at all.

Nobody even KNOWS who Algieri is for you to be saying he's the "hotter" fighter:heh:

And Algieri isnt better than Robert Guerrero either. I cant believe you're riding with Zack Ryder breh:snoop:

This fight is equal to Garcia vs Salka imo, just on a higher, much grander scale. Since when does an A+ fighter like Pacquiao fight a Ballroom Boxer on PPV?:mindblown:

Nope, I cant do this fight at all:camby:

Dude it damn near took Robert his whole career to finally fight dudes that were even remotely dangerous in Aydin and Berto (both ended up being even more dominated afterwards by Soto Karass)

The Ghost is the definition of O.P.P. (Overrated, Protected, and Promoted) Dude made his name off of leap frogging divisions and getting vacant titles.

Nobody in this world or the next, thought him worthy of facing Floyd or even remotely challenging him besides just being rough or dirty.

Dude just went life and death with Ippo. :mjlol:
Skill wise as a boxer, Algieri is better than Robert Guerrero. No doubt about it. He hasn't beaten as many C and B level fighters as the Ghost has, but dude is more skilled without a doubt. He shut out Taylor, (The same Taylor, Broner is fighting and will have to give an epic ass whipping too in order for cats to forget the Molina fight) He then shows heart and skill beating Provodnikov ( a guy Bradley or JMM wanted no parts of)

Algier is the hotter fighter now because he just beat the hotter name. Yeah Khan has been around longer and beat more top guys, but we also seen him get his shyt clapped a number of times. Collazo was a decent opponent, but its the type of name that you forget about after a couple months pass. I mean all Collazo did was finish a guy nikkas already gave up on.

I mean I see where you coming from, but I just have to disagree with it breh.

Manny/Aligieri is an ATG pressure boxer puncher fighting a taller, younger, athletic, technically sound boxer that is defensively sound, quick hands, with mad heart.

I'm not saying this is some epic must see fight. I'm just saying it's not that bad. It's a decent fight. shyt, I rather see Manny fight Swift or Thurman, but we know that ain't happening. It's better than seeing the 17th installment of Pac/JMM.

Maybe Im wrong breh, and I'll admit when Im wrong, but this Manny vs Algieri non-title fight (on PPV nontheless) comes off to me as a straight tune-up fight for Pacquiao. I expect Pac to blitz him from the opening bell and have him out of there within 6 rounds.

I believe Khan or even Guerrero would be a much better fight than Algieri, are both better fighters than him, and this is a horrible fight.

By recent history I meant within the last 5 years. I cant think of a worse ppv Main Event than a Non-Title fight between Manny Pacquiao and Chris Algieri:heh:

I'm just gonna call it right now since nikkas are underestimating #AligeirAssassins. When the fight happens and dude starts giving Manny some problems and possibly win 3 or 4 clear rounds, nikkas are gonna be like :gladbron: and say dude got robbed once Manny doesn't blow this nikka out of the water. Or nikkas gon say Pac ain't shyt.

Now, I do feel that Pac is going to win, but I'll be surprised as fukk if he does it in some early destructive fashion. Algieri ain't some scrub. I don't care about titles. I just care about the fight. I think it's a decent lil match up. Sure it would have been better/bigger if Chris got some more solid wins, but it is what it is.

I think Khan/Manny is an exciting fight, but I think Manny has less trouble with Khan than he would with Algieri. Algieri is more skilled than Khan, plus he has a solid chin. He just doesn't have Khan's speed and his power is like a notch below it. Khan looks more dynamic, but he;s not the better boxer especially with all the flaws he has.

As for the Ghost, Manny would destroy him. Too fast, too many hard combos, just too much of everything. Ghost's slow footed ass would look like he's fighting time itself if he shares the ring with Pac.

I gotta see a lil more of him. I'll admit, Im not up on Chris Algieri....gotta go to the footage on him.

As a British dude, I find Amir Khan's universal appeal so weird.

People really like watching this guy who throws featherweight punches and hasn't beaten anyone of note in over four years?

Algieri is a tune up fight for Manny as is Maidana for Floyd. In May, Manny and Floyd will happen.

Z list casuals are now coming out the wood work and hulking up with their shytty opinions ever since pat bishoff got the reigns @patscorpio

They think hes the Khan from like 2010. This bum was done ever since Danny Garcia threw wild left hooks till one connected to win the fight.

Go rewatch the fight, this jobber Danny literally threw wild hooks till one landed :laff:

Collazo had the same plan but he forgot he aint got no fukking power. He stunk up the joint at the ppv too, stupid fakkit needs to get off my tv.
