The only version that got any play was the single version. Summer 2002, as a youngster, I never even knew a jazzy version existed. And quite frankly, it’s sound wouldnt have been all that popular as the single version. The single version is the one that sparks that nostalgia. That “sound” doesn’t belong to amerie, anymore than “Juicy” belongs to Dre Dog outta San Francisco or B1 out of Mississippi. I guess biggie was biting the South and the Westcoast.
