It's not just because cities like Detroit are decaying. First off, Detroit will bounce back on the next 5 years. Second, the housing crisis- abandoned buildings increase rates.. so the hardest hit areas have increased rates of crime.

It is because of urban decay. You can't try to separate the housing crisis from urban decay. That doesn't make any sense. Cities already facing deindustrialization, declining populations and a declining tax base are the same cities hit hardest by the housing crisis. If you look at a map where foreclosures took place, they're always concentrated in poor urban areas of cities. Detroit is a prime example of that.

Metro Detroit in particular has Dearborn (and other cities) which has many wealthy Arab immigrants. And 5 other cities that have some of the highest rich C@C areas in the nation.

The list didn't go by metro areas. It didn't include Dearborn and other Detroit suburbs. Just what's within the city borders.

Chicago is one of the most dangerous cities.. but Other cities have had as many shootings in a day that chitown has in 3 days, and that's reported Crime (chitown also has a Very high snitch rate).

Link?

:what: can't speak for those other cities, but Cleveland is not decaying, and it has plenty of middle and upper income citizens.

I don't think Atlanta or Baltimore fit your description either

:childplease: lol Cleveland is one of the poorest maybe even the poorest big city in the country dude. There's all classes of people in every city. We're talking percentage. You may see plenty of middle and upper income people, but relative to other cities, they're fewer percentage-wise. Every city on the list has a high ass poverty rate.

Just reading the numbers doesn't tell the whole story of how dangerous a city is. It's where they draw the city limits of the locale. They do these statistics per capita. Every city has its safe parts and its dangerous parts.

I currently live in Jacksonville, which routinely leads FL in murder rate, but you won't see it very high on any dangerous city list because the borders of the city are retarded. It's the largest city in the country in terms of land and it stretches to include a whole bunch of sprawling suburbs. Most of the crime is in the northwest part of the city, in and around the core of the city. If you trimmed the borders down to mostly just the core of the city and excluded a lot of the sparsely populated suburban and rurals areas so that it looked like the borders of most cities, you'd see way more "dangerous" statistics because they're done per capita. There's 80-120 murders per year and they're mostly all confined to a fairly small area.

You don't see Miami on the list either, but Liberty City, Overtown, Little Haiti, etc. :whew: Miami's hoods are as grimy as anywhere.

Dangerous city lists aren't an accurate representation of dangerous areas. Hence, Chicago not being in the top 10.

A couple weeks ago, I tried to tell these n1ggas the bold... they called ducktales.

And I lived in Jacksonville for nearly 2 years, it's grimy in some areas.

Detroit is the type of place that you'll more than likely be aight if you go about your normal life. Chicks get chopped up or come up missing, but more than likely they were doing private strip parties, or trickin puzzy, or hanging with the wrong dude. For the most part the dudes who fall victim to crimes are criminals themselves.

In other cities, random sh1t happens to random people.

Violence in the D almost always drug-related. I grew up on the east side and I never really had any problems staying out of trouble.

If you stay out of the drug game, avoid hanging out with nyggas heavy in the drug game, and avoid nygga moments (acting stupid in the club, etc.) you should be good. :yeshrug:

Tha Land

those poorest/most dangerous cities lists are misleading. For one they don't take in to account, the cost of living. 40k in Cleveland is like 60-70k in new york.

second as you mentioned above they report the cities differently. All large urban cities have a large population of poor people. some cities like Chicago add in surrounding areas when coming up with these numbers. other cities like Detroit and Cleveland leave the surrounding areas out. In the actual city of Cleveland outside of downtown, most of it is the hood. But cuyahoga county or what they call The Greater Cleveland Area is not bad at all, in fact one of Cleveland's suburbs, Solon, is consistently voted as one of the best cities in America.

and beyond any of that, you said the city is decaying, which couldn't be further from the truth.

Lol...this again? Are you some kinda global hooker connoseiur?

He's right tho. He truly is. I know that and I'm not even into that sort of thing.. Any city with man girl hookers.. and nasty girl hookers is gross. I hate the fact that woodward in Detroit has those gross things walking around at night.
