It was the aliens that made Pepper smart.

This last episode was horrible. This season now is declining now imo.

I thought this was one of the best episodes of the entire AHS franchise. Pepper's story was sad as fukk.

They snatched Pepper up and made her intelligent then sent her back into the asylum to monitor things.
She had a pretty good scene with Dr. Arden where she mentioned how she was framed by her sister and her sister's husband for the murder of her nephew. Even mentioned the drowning and the baby having his ears cut off.
