Many East Asians drop their given names for some random Western names the moment they get here, and are often desperate to get in with whites.

First of all, it is way more nuanced. Specifically, she doesn't create random speculations that even the very experts she cites call ridiculous, as she does in the book itself. Second, she acknowledges the mixture of cultural and social issues, not just the cultural ones, unlike in the previous piece.

As for adopting culture, why should you have to change your name in order to adopt "western ways"? Should Barack Obama have changed his name to something that sounds white (which is what you're saying, after all... that they should sound white)? Don't be ridiculous.

I'm not just generalizing, though. Her first name is Amy, isn't it? And she married a white man, if I remember correctly, plus all her articles on her ancestral country disparage the culture of her own people (I've read a few of them.) She herself generalizes about Asians heavily, including that they have "cultural pride," which is strange when you consider how quickly many of them westernize, herself included.

The title made me have little interest in the article but then I read the article and it was quite telling. I agree with a large percent of it. I think it is the biggest reason for what we are going through in this society especially the systematic issues. As a 1st gen American, I can testify about the belief that you must do better. Most Nigerians who come here aren't Mexicans, we come with a college VISA and many get green cards then approved to be US citizens. It's a challenge to get a job. Many go into education or professional fields. Their children see their parents and the high class Black American culture which is more interesting and relate able than the hood culture and they want to do better than their parents. This is no different in the Asian culture. Then the next is raised in the American culture and adapts completely to the American society depending on their place of location.

Great article but terrible title.

It's extremely ironic. At best, the people I've met that truly are prideful of their culture will sorta remix their name or adopt a nickname but never outright change it.

The war is against everyone that isnt you. The people that become poor are everyone that arent you. Little room for justice in a world like that. Becoming a bigot is a short sighted solution to the worlds problems. It actually creates problems in exchange for brief success.

Its racism, which puts you in a race against everyone else, which basically means one group is going to try to have more resources as possible to the detriment of others. The others will either end up being slaves to you or exterminated because eventually, resources run out and war will be needed to determine whos going to get the resources. Its a never ending cycle.

Because it wont last long and leads to the death of millions of black people. Following in the footsteps of white people wont work out well for anyone. It worked for them up until the point they tried to carry on a civilized society where they treated people equally, and now its crumbling.

If you keep your foot on someones neck for to long they grow stronger, and smarter and if you instead choose to lie and give the illusion of progress, you disenfranchise to many of your own people and they join your enemies against you

actually whites borrowed their views on racial supremacy from blacks(Kemites and Moors) whom ruled the world 1st for many centuries...it was only when blacks abandoned their black superiority complex and started to assimilate others(whites,arabs,etc did we fall...it's time we put these troglodytes/cave beast back in their place and take back our crown...

Speaking as another asian The Real is right. Move out here, marry a cac, change your name to 'Amy', etc. Doesn't work that way. But she is like me, her parents are not even from the home country so her talking that shyt about immigrant nationalism is a joke anyway. Her children have been raised as hebrews as well purportedly.
