I'm like, why don't we get the latest? It's due for an upgrade.

Bless yall in Security. I can't do it, I would go insane from the bureaucracy.

It's just like IT, it's a black hole on a spreadsheet so no one wants to spend money on it until something happens.

100. Ain't got no budget to update software to the latest stable version but have money for people at top to get bonuses. I'm getting to the point where I will either go the pentester route or consult as a solutions engineer. Being a blue teamer in an organization that doesn't truly care to understand security is a losing battle.
