The Truth
How the fukk is this going to help bring people back to the theaters? No new upgrades or anything, just the same old seats with a new premium price. How will this help you beat Netflix?

Paying extra for an exit row seat like itā€™s an airline.
This

I can imagine them reducing the price of the seats up front, but INCREASING the price of seats in the back or in good seating positionsā€¦

Nahhhhhhā€¦ not worth it. Me and my sister started going to premium type theaters anyway.

Had a theater in Louisiana we would go to where you can order food, drinks, alcohol, etc., without even leaving your seat. Real food too.. Only place I would pay high prices for a movie and we only went for big movies that we knew were going to be packed in regular theaters.

fukk sitting like sardinesā€¦ seats were damn near love seats with plenty of space, tables, etc

most of the time i go to the movies these days, the theater is only at like 20% capacity. pre covid avengers endgame it was full. but in 2023 nah not even close.
I'd feel stupid af paying extra for premium seats when im sitting in an empty theater and can literally move anywhere for free.

AMC executives probably love the higher stock price and use the stock market to acquire more credit/debt.

I feel like this is a move to keep the stock from being massively sold off since it promotes reoccurring revenue. The market loves reoccurring revenue and institutional investors look for that profit model

If Alamo Drafthouse ever closes down, I'm probably just not going to the movies anymore

I want to eat and drink booze while watching my movie, and the second some shythead takes out their phone or starts talking, I want them removed.

That's it.

Theater better be spotless, ordering from your seat, etc
They're not.

I went to the AMC at Menlo Park in the middle of the day a few months ago because I was in the area getting work done on my car

It was legit one of the most disgusting movie theaters I've ever been in, smelled like piss and Ammonia, kids running around making noise.

And the only reason I stayed was because I was high, hungry, and had two hours to burn
