This can easily become too redundant.
Nah. There's a reason why the comics have lasted so long. I haven't followed it for a good 10-20 issues probably. I stopped reading mostly when Negan killed a certain character. But a situation like that, a zombie apocalypse, as the games have showed us, they can present a TON of different great scenarios. I mean, its an apocalypse. There are a minimal number of people alive. Every situation that they walk into will have danger waiting for them. The show has fukked around with the characters for too long. In the prison for too long(longer than the comics at least). AT that godforasaken farm for too long. There needs to be more tension. That's what's so awesome about the TWD games. They never really have a spot where they're safe. They're constantly on the move. People are constantly dying and getting replaced and what not. I think that somebody involved has to recognize the potential that the franchise still has for TV.

Don't get me wrong. I used to hate on TWD show a lil. I stopped watching for a while like after the 3rd season mid season finale. Then I picked it all up again last year and caught up. Its still entertaining. But there's no goddamn reason why it isn't better.

I think two shows about the same zombie apocalypse on the same channel is redundant. If they ended the story arc with these characters then i'd agree with you, but they need a new cast after every few seasons, not two of the same zombie shows simultaneously. They'll lose viewers overall doing that shyt, it's overkill.

The most exciting shyt AMC has done this year has been the promotion of Better Call Saul :mjlol:.

Even Mad Men felt like it came and went with practically zero hype

I heard AMC invested so much into WD they have gone cheap on everything else including new show development. This new show might just be an attempt to reuse materials and resources spent on WD twice in order to maximize AMC's return on their initial investment. Basically they will be killing 2 birds with one stone if this is successful.

On another note FX has definitely stepped there game up. They don't have a breaking bad or a Mad Men level show but FX current overall lineup is stronger.

No they went cheap on TWD because they spent most of third budget towards Mad Men

There's no denying now that WD would have faired much better on HBO, FX and even Showtime. fukk boys at AMC don't know what they're doing with the show.

not really. the thing that is interesting about walking dead is not the zombies. its the humans. the show is all about how people react to the end of civilization as we know it and being placed in a state of nature.

if we can get new interesting characters in some other part of this universe reacting to similar stimuli, it can be very interesting. this is one of the few show formats that can pretty much anywhere in terms of spin-offs and end up being interesting.

however, characters are KEY. they need great actors and compelling characters for this to work. I think it can work.

cbs has somehow been able to make 10 different versions of CSI and NCIS and somehow people keep watching them.

A second Walking Dead that comes on during the months the original walking dead is off would be welcome. and I bet a ton of people would watch.

its all about characters. TWD world is big enough for more storylines than just the main group we have right now. you could potentially have many more versions of the show based in different parts of the world. TWD africa. TWD asia. TWD europe. all could be compelling.

This spinoff could have potential with the right writing and acting :ld:

My issue with a spinoff is that we've already had to suffer through them cutting the budget for THIS show despite it being so successful. Instead of putting $$ into the main show, their out campaigning for a new show...

I'm expecting them to reuse zombies and other props...

AMC just got lucky with two top 10 all time series and another insanely popular one. It's not like they had some long history of quality programming. FX has been successfully churning out quality series in multiple genres sine The Shield

is there an article about the Walking Dead cutting its budget in being cheap because I hear people say this a lot but I have not seen any proof
