The only justice for me personally if someone murders a loved one is life in jail with no chance of parole or meeting your maker. That's it.

Progress doesn't mean life is good. Remember that half the people on here thought she wouldn't even get convicted. Let's not act like we all thought she was getting 50 years from the jump. This shyt is disappointing but the bar has moved quite a bit. Trayvon got killed by a random dude that wasn't even a cop. Zimmerman didn't get any jail time for killing a civilian. Philando was 100% innocent just minding his own business and got murked ON CAMERA by a spicy cac.
We can acknowledge movement and still push for better. It's not either/or, it's both.
Real progress would have been her getting 25+ years at a minimum. We ain't there yet.

Dude bashes his first baby mother and Troy Ave on his podcast any chance he gets. That’s why I don’t take him seriously on this forgiveness topic. He always wants to come off as being more emotionally intelligent than people, so this was the perfect opportunity to take the side basically everyone is going against.

The thing that has me perturbed is the jury convicted her of murder but they believed it was an accident so I would be curious what was the starting number and did they go down from there. The imagery of three different black people coddling a convicted murderer who killed another black person is the exact "hallmark" moment the media loves. Yeah we can choke you to death, kill you when you're unarmed, kill you in your home, but "God said forgive"...Its such a dog and pony show..
There were some brehs who were protesting and things of that nature, and I have come to the conclusion that botem's family are c00ns, they will get a nice settlement and that will be it. So if they are so "forgiving", I'm not about to die on that sword for them. I stand by what I said, some people delusional thinking this white woman would get 20+. The sentence was what I thought it would be.
Like I said Dallas is putting in work locally, there were so many dog whistles by the judge sent to that jury that influenced them. Most judges are backed by police unions so I'm not surprised by that. There will be ramifications for her partner and a lot of cops wanted her to have more time as well but it was some progress but the levees need to break as it relates real long sentences for rogue, racist, crooked cops..

I was done posting on this site but I knew the site would be a great way to keep up with this case because other news outlets were skimming past this sh1t up until this forgiveness sh1t started.
I knew not to get myself worked up about this case and the guilty verdict because as I always say, "White women DO NOT get punished unless they kill a white man."
She basically hit the lottery because had she not done this, she would have still been a cop making a decent salary. Now she gets to rest up for a few years and come out to what will probably be millions in donations, speaking engagements, and a book deal.
They are also most likely going to appeal the MURDER CONVICTION TO A LESSER MANSLAUGHTER CONVICTION. She will still do time but this is a statistics move.
I also knew this would turn into a forgiveness fest but in order to not offend, I will not speak on it.
You have no safe haven, I know what it is when I walk out my door in the morning but now I can't even unwind in my own home. Some white, Asian, Hispanic, or Arab can come barging in and kill me and say they feared for their life.
