We gotta stop with this forgiveness shyt. Black folks be so damn quick to publicly forgive people they forgiving folks before the crime is even completed.
Forgiveness culture is one thing America doesn't have. This was typical respect and protect law enforcement culture. Even when she lost, she won.
I don't agree with what the brother or judge did. I looked at the clip of the female cop "comforting" her, it looked a bit dispassionate to me, like she was checking her hair like I've observed at the the TSA but who knows.
My thing is not really the forgiveness, to each their own. But the need to publicize it is.....strange to me. Forgiveness is something in your heart between you and God. It's for your own comfort, not the person who wronged you. She should never know whether or not she's forgiven.
You see these true crime shows with white people and they'll ask the family of the victim whether they forgave the convicted after all those years......usually they say it took them YEARS if at all, and they don't volunteer the info. It's something they did grudgingly.
And saying he doesn't want her to go to jail? What does he want then? He needs to be counseled behind closed doors. I won't shyt on him but I definitely don't agree with his actions.
