In my opinion the minimum for murder in Texas is extremely lax. The jury should have had no option below 25 years. You have to stop giving people the opportunity to make stupid decisions.

Everyone is entitled to grieve in their own way, but certain things are bigger than the individual. That behavior in an open court room is irresponsible and unnecessary.

There’s already a green light on black folks; hugging this woman and carrying on talking about “i don’t even want you to go to prison” after she killed your brother for the offense of eating ice cream on his own couch sets a terrible precedent. In these high profile cases, they promise the families millions in cooperation that they shuck and jive and forgive in front of the world as this is an international story that makes America (White America) look bad. I try not to get too involved in these high profile cases because they just give butter biscuits to the families so all Black folks look forgiving and the world sees Black folks as senile.
