Am I the only one who can't watch procedurals anymore?

"Gotham" isn't a procedural. Just because a show has case-of-the-week type episodes, doesn't make it a procedural.

I don't know, it has strong procedural elements, like Gordon being assigned a case or being drawn in to some kind of investigation. I think it's the Penguins story arch that makes it more ambiguous. :patrice:

I guess you can say shows like "Gotham" are hybrids more than a Serial drama. But "Gotham" has been A LOT MORE serialized this season than last season. I don't think there's been a straight-up case-of-the-week only episode this season.

Procedurals are borderline insulting to the audience. I don't get how people can tune in every week to watch episodes that are gonna have the same general structure with a predictable resolution. Like, I used to like shows like "Burn Notice" and "Suits" when they first came out until I would start getting bored because of how similar the episode structures are every week.

So whats the film room's opinions on "Serials Vs. Procedurals"? :ehh:
I hate those shows in general.

"Supernatural" & "iZombie" aren't procedurals. They're Serial Dramas that utilize Case-of-the-week episodes. I guess you can call them hybrids.

:patrice: what's the difference? most of the shows listed could be called serial dramas or hybrids. most if not all have an "arc" that runs through the season.
